Sep 29, 2022 Recovery was his second peak but he had an AWFUL run afterwards, easily the worst of his career. Endless terrible features (remember fans down? ) BME, MMLP2, SHADY XV, that s-----y boxing movie soundtrack, then Revival. All awful projects give or take a few songs. He was at an all time low after Revival and I genuinely thought he'd fade into obscurity. People weren't listening to him, he wasn't interesting, wasn't charting, wasn't selling, looked like a penguin with weird beard and Kangol obsession etc. I don't rate Kami that highly and Side A/B definitely has its flaws but when you compare where he was from 2011-2017 he's restored some credibility to his discography imo. Still missing that final classic though (I don't think it will ever come, 2009/2010 was his best opportunity for that). A lot rests on his next album. It's always been 1 step forward 2 steps back and with his recent output and corny NFT s--- I'm quietly concerned that he'll f--- up again.
Sep 29, 2022 No those albums were not good enough. But he should stop making music anyway imo no hate
Sep 29, 2022 Definitely an uptick in quality, but they still surely are not on the same level as his good albums. Also he is old, out of touch and uninteresting anyway so he should just retire.
Sep 29, 2022 Most people don't realize how much of an influence the Bass Brothers had behind Eminem as an artist and just his overall sound. You can see here in the Bass Brothers production credits. Bass Brothers disappear right around the same time Em's music direction and overall sound completely changes. Em's been flip flopping around with flows, cadences and trying to find an identity ever since. There's no doubt that the Bass Brothers was one of the main driving forces behind the Eminem music a lot of us grew up with and loved. Em always knew how to rap, but the bass brothers really helped him turn that into actual music.
Sep 29, 2022 They've been around the whole time and guiding him. Whether they produced all the tracks or not. Learn english.
Sep 29, 2022 i hate to say this, being such a stan of new em, but clearly explaining in plain english the way straight from the lab is point blank supposed to replace the joke section of encore did more to restore his legacy than any of his comeback stuff except for a short list of rarities like mic fiend, deja vu, rap god, and castle/arose. i think he knows apart from tracks like these here and there, explaining what really happened with encore, and releasing the album as originally envisioned on its anniversary, is gonna do way more for his legacy than tryna use lyrical miracle acapellas to try and recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice
Sep 29, 2022 No, but these albums have been good, people calling them trash just exagerate because it's Em. Em's second peak was Relapse/Recovery
