Oct 2, 2022 Recovery was soo huge at the time. MMLP2 gets a decent amount of hate from this forum, to be honest if he would have had some better production on some songs it would have been almost a classic and replaced stronger then i was with Baby and put groundhogs day on the standard album it would have been a classic. BME 2 was okay so much screaming and it got annoying. Shady XV was bad, but it had some good songs like fine line and guts over fear. Southpaw was trash in my opinion. Revival I think was just overthought, I feel like he rushed through the newer tracks he recorded for that project just because I think he was pressuring himself to put something out, you can like scrap like half of the tracks and its a good project. Kami was great because to me it was like the first time in years to see/hear him get actually angry and have emotion in his work. Side A was great just feels like a mixtape more then a album. some great songs though. same thing with side b.
Oct 4, 2022 I like the verses from ShadyXV except for the ones from the corny songs. He killed Detroit Vs Everybody
Oct 4, 2022 The thing I like about em is different eras had totally different sounding music . mmlp didn’t sound like TES, relapse didn’t sound like his previous work then recovery had an entirely didn’t sound . His music isn’t albums top notch but at least he’s switched it up over the years instead of one style and sound the entire time
Oct 4, 2022 I always see people say this but I don't see why this would change much. As of the past few years he's found modern production that suits him and could get a beat from virtually any producer in the world, the issues are most often his lyrics and flow.
Oct 4, 2022 As mentionned previously Bass Brothers pretty much taught Em how to rap on beat. How to turn rapping into music. When I said he needs the Bass Brothers, it's not about what they can bring to the table as far as production. It's about guidance and having a second opinion. He can still seek whoever he wants for production. These days Em has no one to tell him "no this is wack. Your flow sounds terrible. You should do this it will sound better". And it's not Just Blaze, Illadaproducer or whoever he hires for beats that's going to tell him something shouldn't be done a certain way. Veterans also need mentors and guidance. Even world champions have a head coach to tell them "you f----- up, wake the f--- up and remember what I taught you".
Oct 4, 2022 Em needs a more laid back approach as opposed to controlling every aspect of his music making. Dr. Dre and the Bass Brothers used to play that role but they are gone.
Oct 4, 2022 No but Dr. Dre's confidence is. So even he can't be trusted to be a mentor these days. Lol true. When your business manager is the one helping you make creative decisions it's not a good look. Especially if it's a fat c---- like Paul.
Oct 4, 2022 What's the source Bass Brothers teaching Em how to rap on beat? Not necessarily saying it isn't true just ever heard that before. I 100% agree with the rest tho, people are afraid to say anything to him to his detriment. But it's funny you mention Just Blaze cuz he infamously DID tell Em that stuff lol: https://www.hiphoplately.com/just-blaze-recalls-how-he-almost-ruined-his-relationship-with-eminem/
Oct 4, 2022 Honestly i can't recall where exactly. It's been a while. But it's from internet people and looking at the timelime of their presence it made too much sense not to be true. And as they say, always trust the internet.
