Sep 29, 2022 Ok but its still not good though. Encore also wasn’t a classic but it still was a good eminem imo. Even relapse kinda. Everything after average at best for most of the hip hop fans
Sep 29, 2022 He got my faith back (after Revival) when he released Chloraseptic remix. That was a trip down memory lane f---
Sep 29, 2022 His legacy is cemented. You know once he's gone he'll get all of the flowers. Em could put out a dozen more Revivals and this wouldn't change. His work since has been a solid improvement though. Might not get another classic out of him but I'll gladly take some more MTBMB level projects.
Sep 29, 2022 But that bad meets evil ep was good imo. I wonder why so many people hate it. Maybe because of the lighters song
Sep 29, 2022 Thats cool but you are a hardcore eminem fan. Most of the hip hop fans now rather listen to other rappers that are on that technical or lyrical level for example kendrick. Maybe eminem is just out of touch. Nothing really he can do about it i guess
Sep 29, 2022 Side A+B didn't restore it by any means, but they didn't damage it any further which is actually pretty good for him at this point.
Sep 29, 2022 Lmao the only true "trash" project Em released was revival, MMLP2 was really good but lacked replay value, still its his last true "Album" in my book. XV is a label album, and that was mid at best, BME EP aged terrible besides that god tier Intro track. Kamikaze and Side A/B are good projects, but are literally just victory laps nothing more. They feel more like Mixtapes than anything else.
Sep 29, 2022 h--- nah Ems performance was on another level compared to Revival and despite some questionable beats, the production was way better than on Revival, too.
Sep 29, 2022 Sound and production wise it was a mess. Not all of it, just a good part. Pretty immature too.
Sep 29, 2022 Eminem will forever be considered one of the GOATs by certain people no matter what he puts out. With that being said, he has irreparably tarnished his legacy. Every album of his since Encore has had majority mixed reviews or bad reviews. I bring that up because the narrative that the opinion of the majority creates plays a heavy hand in his “legacy” and whether or not he has one. The narrative right now for anyone 30 and under is that Eminem is washed up. I come from one of the “newer generations” and most people my age or younger look at Eminem as an embarrassing cornball who takes himself too seriously but used to be great. Eminem hasn’t given the younger generation much music they vibe with, and that’s a problem. Once the old Eminem fans die, the younger generations will dictate the narrative that could ultimately shape how he’s looked at for the rest of time. There’s no saving his legacy, he will never be able to shake these narratives that have been created for him now. Just look at how much s--- Michael Jackson, Elvis, Tupac, etc. get these days. At least they were still putting out music the majority f----- with when they died, but not Eminem. So imagine how bad it will be for Em in the future. And based on his recent XXL interview, it’s clear that he has no intentions of even trying to save his legacy. He’s going to cram as many syllables as he can into each s-----y punchline/pun filled bar over boring beats until he dies. There’s no reason to believe otherwise at this point. He has served the fans s--- filled plate after s--- filled plate for over a decade now, and frankly, I’m fed up with it. Like I said in the Eminem thread, one more mediocre album and I’m done being a fan. I’m not the only one who feels this way either. Other legends knew when to stop or died before they could keep going. Eminem won’t stop.
Sep 29, 2022 Eminem has put out trash . This is known . he’s 50 still making better music than the majority of rappers out. I think it’s in fair to compare his new stuff to old . Mmlp and TES are hailed at the highest form of rap albums . Of course he can’t match them . Name rappers that have .
Sep 29, 2022 So there is not one single rapper that made a better or same quality album like those two?
Sep 29, 2022 I liked BME when I first heard Living Proof from Koolo I freaked out I thought it was fire
Sep 29, 2022 People are just f----- you know I miss the old days for sure but songs like Kings Never Die they would have been huge in his prime. That song is a huge song and largely over looked. Just one example.
Sep 30, 2022 No, the amount of people who hate those albums are still apparent, could be a loud minority but idk. Unless he puts out undeniably great work he'll stay where he's at rn, most of the problems with his music now is entirely self afflicted so I hope he fixes it but all I hope for a decent album. Also since this is about his public image I'd assume it also took a hit from the cringe a--- NFT s---. I still quite like Side A and Kami though, some select bits of Side B were fun as well but it was an apparent and large downgrade in what I look for from a self proclaimed lyricist.
