Personally I care about the vibe of a song and the overall production first and foremost and then the actual rap and message second.

The only reason people like a song like Hot n----- is cause the production turns up so no one cares that the bars are s---. Good production can still make a good song out of bad bars but terrible production over any rap no matter how good it is, ruins the entire song.

    So what do y'all think?

    Production

It can be the best verse in the world, but if the music behind it is unlistenable; the verse becomes irrelevant

I prefer good rapping over a mediocre beat. And this is the best example of what i am talking about:

The thing is with Eminem, is that his rapping style creates beats in themselves, so it adds to the overall production while still being a good verse.

Another component is melody. I don't give 2 s----s about what they're saying, it just sounds good:

It depends on what ifs for, its for the club then production. The 'rap' is more important to hiphop songs than the beat

I disagree even with true hiphop. You might disagree but even with a rapper like Earl Sweatshirt, with his undeniable talent for lyricism and rapping I just cannot f--- with his new album because of s-----y production

Exactly, but the thing is that Eminem is not the only one that can do this. If you got a good voice and flow that's enough for me, at less that the beat is something really horrible.

What i can't actually stand are rappers that can't flow on great beats. They ruin the track for me.

This is a prime example of what I'm talking about. I could come up with a better rap while eating glass in a Guantanamo Bay prison but the production is smooth as f--- so the song as a whole is fire.
