Feb 16, 2022 This was good cant wait for part 3 where they show the fall of his career #fuckkanyewestandlistentolloydbanks
Feb 16, 2022 I watched part 1, thought it was pretty good. It was cool being able to actually see what we’ve heard/been told about Kanye’s early career. I’d watch an entire season of the early stuff tbh. The scenes with his Mom were wholesome too.
Feb 16, 2022 Good watch. Always fascinating to see behind the curtains of people that we never see from the public perception that we have of them. Polarising figure to say the least. I hope he finds his passion and happiness one day again. Also to make great music again, get all the leeches away from him and phoning in albums like his last few projects seem to be. The guys creativity is beyond any artist that I know off, just a shame the recent times and his mind state is putting a stop to that.
Feb 16, 2022 I saw Talib live back then and he brought out Kanye as a special guest. That was 2003. I would love to see that footage turn up somewhere, if it exists.
Feb 17, 2022 Beyond the kanye stuff it's also a really dope look at some behind the scenes 90s/early 2000s Chicago and NY rap. His Mom seemed so cool. Truly the grounding force in his life. It's sad cuz you look back at young kanye and are like "what the f--- happened to this guy?" He def had an ego back then but it was in an endearing/self-aware way that made you want him to win because he also made you feel like you could win too.
Feb 17, 2022 Aight, I had some time to spare so I actually did watch this. It's crazy how much old footage coodie had in his vault. The entire episode was based around old clips And I thought I wasn't going to learn something new about ye, but I did. So yeah, this s--- was good.
Feb 18, 2022 It's pretty surreal that we get to watch 20 years of footage of the same dude following Kanye around. Part 3, which I guess is gonna me about recent Kanye is gonna be interesting as f---.
Feb 18, 2022 Yeah I'm wondering how they're gonna divide it up exactly. If I had to guess: Part 1: young producer kanye Part 2: College Dropout --> 808s/Tswift incident/death of his mom Part 3: self-imposed exile/MBDTF --> present
Feb 18, 2022 I know Premo has mentioned several times over the years that he has a ton of footage of g--- Starr and the industry in general. He too was always recording. But I don’t know what he’s going to do with that footage. Maybe this documentary will inspire him to do something similar. Obviously it won’t be as big as Kanye’s deal but I could see Showtime picking that up via Mass Appeal.
