I'm a huge fan of his work from 99 to 03 and I always will be but 85% of the material he's released since then has been garbage. He's still on top in terms of sales but in terms of skill he has undergone the biggest fall off in hip hop history. If you look at most of the MC's from the 90's and early 2000's they've fallen off in terms of popularity but most of them can still rap and make music that is as good or close to their earlier material. But Em on the other hand is just complete garbage now. Dude is nowhere close to where he was when he first came out. I can't stand his new music whether it's the screaming, accents, wack punchlines, or forced pop duets with Rihanna. At this point I just wish he would retire.

Scarface, Black Thought and GFK deserve it more than him

He isn't to me anymore :idk: I don't like anything Eminem has done since TES dropped, or 8 Mile, I forgot what came out last. That's still like 12 years or something though.

10 spots only leaves a very select few rappers. 7 spots are without a doubt locked by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Andre 3000, Nas, Lil Wayne, Tupac, and Biggie, so that leaves 3 spots.

I would honestly give 50 Cent one of those spots before Eminem. He has 2 great albums, one less than Eminem. But he's still capable of dropping good music to this day, and beyond that, he's one of the more prominent influences for this current generation of rappers. Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Schoolboy Q, Soulja Boy, Drake, Chief Keef, YG, Bobby Shmurda have all either explicitly spoke of 50's impact or you can hear it in their music. That said, I would put 50 in my top 30 not top 10, but I'm just making a point.

He's not top 10 for me anymore. :idk:

tbh lil wayne fell off too, probably harder than Em.

Ghostface Killah and Black Thought all have some of the most consistent discographies in hip hop and Ice Cube & Rakim have always been considered as top 10 goats.
I'd remove lil wayne from your list and add these 4 and you have 10 rappers.

Is Eminem as great as he was? Absolutely not. Is he trash now? No, he's not. He's held in such a high regard that when he is compared to his former self, he is made out to seem worse than he really is. It's how the brain works. It's like moving away from a huge house to a smaller house. The smaller house isn't bad but it seems worse when compared to what you were used to. He dropped 3 fantastic albums in the beginning of his career. Can't knock those. Then he came with 2 really bad albums (though they do have redeeming tracks). The last two albums sit in the middle. 2 out of 7 albums were bad, and I find it hard to knock him for that considering the s--- that was going on during that time.

Aside from his albums, he also made a huge impact when he came. He was a f---ing worldwide phenomenon. He still is. He could drop an album right now and I guarantee people would flip s---. The fact that he is still relevant and still brought up in conversations today says a lot. He's also inspired numerous rappers (and put in their top 10s, even top 5s), from Kendrick Lamar to Big Sean. He was proclaimed the best by one of the biggest out right now (Drake).

So is he top 10? To me, yes. Of course, this is all opinionated and I'm not gonna force it on anybody, but this is my say on the matter. And this is probably the most Stannish post I'll ever make.
