People have been calling me Nay for years now. Depending on the tone you use when saying it I know it can sound weird, however I'm already known by the name so I am not changing it any time soon. Did you check out the songs tho?

Alright, I know they aren't the best but I make do with what I can. Any visual is better than no visual at all (usually). As more resources become available and I meet more people, my videos will improve. Music-wise what did you think?

Honestly, a tripod could have done wonders for the first video. The handy-cam style works for the second one, but it's pretty distracting in "Nicotine." You have some cool locations in that first video, and I would have loved to see more of a variety of shots...it's mostly just you rapping, and some variety in action/having the area more populated (in some of the shots, at least) would have been nice to break things up. Also, I would avoid using editing programs' built-in transitions as much as possible. They can work on occasion, but 9/10 times they end up looking corny. What program did you use to edit, by the way?

Unfortunately I can't give you much advice on the rapping front.

    btw nice beat @LasiK

Thanks for the tips man! I have a song called "Hustle On" that a video was shot for before summer by a friend who is actually a videographer, and it's coming along really nicely but is taking forever, so I've been shooting less professional ones in the mean time to get the music out. "Nicotine" was shot last-minute by my friend who knows nothing about recording (the reason it isn't stable). I completely understand about having a variety in action and more populated shots, I need to work on that because I'm currently editing another video for my song "Daps & Pounds" and it is missing those elements as well (however that one is shot with a tripod). Nice to know about the transitions too, I'll stay away from them in the future. I use Sony Vegas Pro 10 to edit. Thanks a lot for the thoughtful response! :emoji_thumbsup:

No problem dude, it's all a learning experience. You'll get exponentially better with each video you edit. I've never used Sony Vegas Pro (just Final Cut and Premiere), though I just did a bit of research on it and it looks pretty legit. I just wanted to make sure you weren't using iMovie or some s---, lol. Those basic programs can really stifle your progression as an editor because there's not that much you can do with them.

Though I would recommend trying out Adobe Premiere just because it integrates so nicely with the rest of the Creative Suite (AfterEffects, Photoshop, InDesign, etc) and there's a lot of cool stuff you can do with those programs. I actually prefer Final Cut to Adobe, but the integration is too nice to pass up.

Yeah Vegas Pro is one of the main programs that competes against Final Cut and Premiere. It was the first quality video program I discovered and learned off youtube tutorials how to use it. I wish I had chosen to start with Premiere or Final Cut from the start instead tho. I haven't ever tried Final Cut or Premiere simply because so much goes into learning how the program functions. Plus after learning a lot about Vegas Pro, I feel like it'd be a step backwards to have to start from scratch with a new program. I had AfterEffects at one point but only opened it up a few times without picking up how to use it quickly, so I kinda gave up on it for the moment haha. I'm good with photoshop tho, so maybe it'll be worth it to try messing with Premiere too.

Are you good at editing videos? Got one you can post for me to check out?

AfterEffects is definitely overwhelming at first but if you know photoshop you're already ahead of the game. I taught myself the basics via YouTube tutorials and friends who know the program, and after that it becomes fairly intuitive (especially since I'd used InDesign before).

I edited a lot back in high school and then recently got back into it around a year ago...I'm no expert by any means, but I try to help people out by passing on what knowledge I DO have because so many people have done the same for me. I'd say I know my way around FCP7/FCPX fairly well, and I only got into Adobe in the past few months, but the layout is similar to FCP7 so it's been pretty easy (especially because there's a setting to change the hotkeys to FCP hotkeys). I'm on my phone right now but I'll try to dig something up to send you later.

The track turned out pretty well, its mixed & mastered way differently compared to Lost In Space because i wanted the track to remain smooth, whereas lost in space was mastered to make it bump loud.

I think you should invest in some LED lights, you can make pretty simple videos but setting them up in a room.

Here is an example, especially the shots with kanye show you how such simples lights can be used to make something great..

Here is another example, throughout the video there are shots of YG & Drake in rooms with LED lights

Another thing, if you turn the saturation down on your videos to the point where the colors are mute.
Here is a quick example to show you what i mean:

It would improve the videos so much
Adding some shading to the video would also help it, as you can see it being used throughout the who do you love music video..

The LED lights idea is cool, I just got a green screen that Imma try messing with for some videos if I can make it not look corny. Maybe I can figure out a way to do something using the green screen AND LED lights. As for the saturation, I purposely make them really saturated. I like the colors to pop, I feel it keeps attention. I think it worked really well with over-exaggerating the colors of the graffiti in Nicotine and Daps & Pounds, without making it look too intense to where it looks fake. In the example you showed of the Game pic, I actually like the "before" pic better. Now if it were more of a gloomy or gangster-style video, I feel the "after" pic would fit more, but that isn't how my tracks are. I want them to be fun.
