So yesterday was the big day! Not only was I part of an incredible lineup that included Diplo, Travis Scott, Pusha T, Lil Dicky, and many more big names, I can now officially say that I was an opening act for 50 Cent! That's right, last night G-Unit reunited on the stage that I was performing on just moments before! It was an incredible experience and I'm never going to forget it. Every single moment was an adrenalin rush for me, from being on the radio, newspaper, and televised news the day before, to chilling backstage before the show, to performing, to watching the incredible show the other artists put on the rest of the night, it was a dream come true.

I did put quite a bit of effort into this, and yes I am trying to make it. Logically thinking I know the chances are slim, but at the same time, it's my dream and I'm gunna chase it. Right now I'm not relying on rapping as my career, knowing how hard it is to break into the industry I have more realistic plans then that. However if by chance things somehow take off, then h--- yeah I'm gunna make it my career. You may not enjoy my look, voice, style, whatever; but at the same time there are people that DO in fact enjoy my stuff. I have plenty of fans from all over by posting stuff online. I've done only 2 real shows (not counting my acoustic rap shows I've done in local areas), my first I had the opportunity to open for Dizzy Wright and everyone there enjoyed it. My second show was for a sold out crowd that also acted as an audition for one of the biggest music festivals in my state. Everyone there enjoyed me so much that I was the one chosen to perform at the largest venue in the state for between 10,000-20,000 people! Now I'm getting even more shows lined up. Considering how early I am in this process of trying to make it, I've already taken some huge steps. Other people can see my potential even if you can't, and I have the drive to make it happen. I've done plenty of research on the music industry and hip-hop itself, and I get better with each track I make. (Like 90% of this album was recorded over a year ago, I just had a ton of setbacks that pushed me back from releasing it. So how I rap now is already improved from what you're hearing on this album). I appreciate you checking it out and giving feedback, I enjoy criticism as it helps me improve myself, however I won't agree with what you said about "rap not being my thing." You can't decide for someone what they can and cannot do.

So it has been announced that I will be performing at Shaggfest again this summer! For those of you who don't know, Shaggfest is a yearly show at Virginia's largest music venue. Last year I performed there with Trey Songz, Ma$e, Timbaland, Jidenna, and others. This year is gunna be even bigger, and it was announced to the public this morning that I will be opening for Diplo and Travis Scott! There are another 4 national acts that I know of that have already been booked for the show (and three of them I've seen talked about quite a bit here on Section Eighty) and they will be announced as it gets closer to the show. I'm so hyped for the show and just wanted to share it with y'all.

Side note: I'm currently working on an EP with my friend who sings, we're blending genres and it's coming out dope! Should be released within the next two months.

Just realized I never updated about Shaggfest. It was truly an unforgettable experience. DMX ended up getting locked up like 2 weeks before the show so he replaced by Ma$e, and Sage The Gemini had something come up the day before but Timbaland ended up replacing him so it was still a crazy event. Trey Songz was dope and Jidenna killed it and even performed a few unreleased songs for his first time there. Of course the highlight of the day for me was performing for the awesome crowd. Leading up to this event Trey Songz, Jidenna, 50 Cent, and Rotimi all retweeted things containing my name, my name was being promo'd on the radio, and I'm listed on the back of the Shaggfest T-Shirts. It was definitely an exciting day for me. I'm working on editing some footage together from the event, hopefully I can finish it up soon so you guys can see the performance.

As for my recent music:
The night before Shaggfest I entered Funk Volume's Don't Funk Up Our Beats Contest. We were given a few days to create a 2 minute song and music video using one of their beats, you can check that out here:

Last night I recorded one of my best songs yet, it's called "Underdog". I'm still working out the details of how I'm gunna release it, will probably s---t a quick music video and put it out within the next few weeks, so be on the lookout for that.
