Sep 20, 2022 ...is so stupid. Em's view that people don't like Revival because they pre-judged via the tracklist is so deluded. He still hasn't reconciled the reasons why people don't like it. People dislike it because it's contrived, confused pop rap trash with 10,000 features and some of his worst production and writing. If something's good it's good so even though people did pre judge via the tracklist, if you hear it and it's good then you're just like 'oh s--- it's actually good'.
Sep 20, 2022 It’s an awful album and that’s mainly the reason people hate it but I do get his point about people pre judging track lists straight away. I remember when Kings never die was announced and people were hating on it immediately because of the song title and Gwen Stefani and it actually weren’t that bad considering some of the other stuff he was releasing around that time. In that new XXL article he said that he'd rather show the best rapping skills instead of making good albums. Well, then may be you shouldn't be offended when people or critics say that you release trash. Such approach makes all of his conflicts with critics artificial and empty.

It was the production, the over saturated pop features, the mess of cohesion and the promo it got that ruined it.

He believes that critics trash his music because they don't catch multis. Seems like the thought of a critisized song/album being unlistenable just doesn't cross his mind at all. "Listenability" is a subjective thing of course, but with Eminem it can sometimes feel like he has deliberately found the bottom.
Sep 20, 2022 And that's exactly why he hasn't put out a great album since Relapse. Relapse was him taking on a persona and writing as that personal to make a cohesive album. Ironically, Relapse is some of his best rapping he's ever had even though he was trying to make a good album. It really sucks people s--- on the accent because ever since then, he went pop and became everything he hated in his early years.
