NFL.com just posted this list yesterday.

    10) Drew Brees
    9) Brett Favre
    8) John Elway
    7) Roger Staubach
    6) Dan Marino
    5) Otto Graham
    4) Johnny Unitas
    3) Peyton Manning
    1b) Joe Montana
    1a) Tom Brady

Highlights of each player plus write ups and an interesting fact about each player on the link below if you're interested.

Your thoughts on the list? Any major issues?

To me the 1a 1b cop out at the top is kinda lame, but besides that it's not bad. I don't know enough about the NFL before I was born to really say much about some of these guys. They did mention in the Brees write up part that Rodgers would have been next on the list for them.

Pretty cliche list. Poor Drew Brees though, dude puts up numbers in the regular season but that defense just loses games.

Even though he was a Packer and I hate the Packers more than anybody, I grew to like and respect Favre starting with that game the day his dad died. You could just tell he has so much fun playing the game and he's a lot of fun to watch too with his risky bullet passes and even the sometimes stupid passes that are INTs.

Plus he's tough as h--- and played almost 300 straight games or whatever, that's just ridiculous for anyone but especially a QB..Plus his 2009 year on the Vikings was pretty amazing, that season was actually his highest QB rating of his career at 107.2, highest completion % too.

I feel like Favre could be above some of those names, but 9 is probably fair enough as well.

Marino should be above Graham and Unitas, just cause he didn't win a chip he can't be top 5?

Favre shouldn't be on here tbh. He was great in the 90's but got really inconsistent when the 2000's came around. Marino should be higher too imo. It's always hard to evaluate QB's like Unitas and Graham because their era of football was so different.

Yup it's like that with every sport. I feel they always want to throw in a few of the older greats just out of respect. The same thing goes with basketball and baseball, you look at guys like Babe Ruth or Chamberlain putting up 100 points in a game, would never happen in this day and age of sports.

Yeah. I know we should praise the older greats because they were great in their respective eras but reality is that athletes have greatly improved over time. They are more stronger, more built, faster, better stamina etc. That's why I just think it's funny to claim Graham is better than a Big Ben. Big Ben is much more physically talented.

It's definitely out of respect. I also feel like they more judge how they performed in their certain eras than just overall. Same happens here with Australian football. I look at some of the greats and no they'd get washed these days. Especially the teams. My teams the only one to win 4 premierships in a row they did it in the late '20s. I know that team would get absolutely dismantled these days though.

Surprised no Bart Star on this list tbh. Might replace Brees with Aikman. Also Warren Moon never gets any love in these lists.

Putting Elway that low is f---ing insane. Easily top 5 QB of all time, maybe even top 3. I'm undecided between him and Peyton.

Brady/Montana are close though. I'd choose Brady, obviously, but I think it's really just between them at this point.

And I'd choose Rodgers over Brees, and definitely over Favre.
