Jul 11, 2015 Eminem and Gwen Stefani joined forces for “Kings Never Die,” which dropped Friday and will be found on the soundtrack for the boxing drama Southpaw — and while Stefani says she’s always wanted to work with the rapper, her voice almost didn’t cooperate when it came time for their collaboration. “The process was really simple,” she told EW on Friday while hosting the Harajuku Lovers Tea Party at BeautyCon Los Angeles. “One of his guys came and played me the song and then I was like, ‘Yeah, I like it! Amazing!’” “I’ve always wanted to work with him — he’s a genius — and then all of a sudden they called me and said, ‘It has to be done today’ and I was like, ‘Ah, my voice’ — I had a cough or something,” she recalled. “I went in and I made it happen, but it was like, barely.” “It was like, ‘God, why does today have to be the day my voice is not happening?’ But it ended up turning out good,” Stefani added. “I wanted to do something with him for so long and I feel honored — he’s very selective. I feel really honored.” Southpaw and its soundtrack will be released July 24. Jul 11, 2015 Everyone was pissed when they saw the title/feature lol, good thing it turned out a lot better than people expected (on s80 at least)
Jul 11, 2015 so it's not really a cookie cutter song, so to say lol the song was done before gwen gave a hook.
Jul 11, 2015 I don't get it, it has a pretty low score on hnhh, which is fine, but songs like Phenomenal, The Monster got rated a lot higher lol
Jul 11, 2015 interesting thing is, notice how Em made everything before the hook? he knew what he wanted...this is why this song was amazing...notice how so many people loved this song? and now we learn nothing was premade?...quality work speak for itself edited op to include text
Jul 11, 2015 im pretty certain em got the song with the hook sung by liz rodriguez, and decided to use gwen instead.
Jul 11, 2015 This exactly It's produced by The Last Royals, there were obviously Liz Rodriguez Vocals as a reference before Gwen did hers
Jul 11, 2015 you're still saying this? maybe I should give it another chance, only listened like 4 times
Jul 11, 2015 Wow so my predictions were true that it ain't Em who goes to this chicks for hooks, but it's the Interscope machine/Paul. This song worked out though but most of the time it doesn't
Jul 11, 2015 just listened again, and then Phenomenal. I could tell no difference in quality whatsoever
Jul 11, 2015 why? he used liz many times...why would he pick someone else? i dunno, i still believe this wasnt premade
