Nov 20, 2025 We are back for year 2 (2025) of S80'S AOTY Bracket! Lots of music dropped this year, and we are here to determine the site's favorite. This was a major success last year and I am so glad to bring it back again this year. Have genuinely been counting down the days! As a reminder, here are the rules and guidelines for what is included. Some new rules and guidelines in here too, so be sure to read! Everyone can suggest one (or as many as they want) albums that released in 2025, I will designate their seeds (explained in the guidelines), and we will work through bracket style to determine our S80 2025 Album of the Year! GUIDELINES/SET-UP: -Must have been released between Jan 1st, 2025 and Dec 31st, 2025 -“Released on streaming” releases count (ex. Days Before Rodeo) -Deluxes that released this year for an album that released in 2024 or before do NOT count (ex. GUTS released in 2023 and GUTS (spilled) released in 2024, so it did not count for the 2024 bracket) -Deluxes are NOT considered as their own album unless it is an entire album's worth of tracks (ex. SOS Deluxe, MTBMB Side B ) -"Anniversary" deluxes do NOT count as a 2025 release -Live albums are not counted -Compilation albums are not counted -Soundtrack albums are only added if they have all/mostly original NEW music (ex. K-Pop Demon Hunters, Tron Ares) -Any album that released in 2025 and went #1 during the year has an automatic placement -All genres accepted -Mainstream and underground accepted -First 64 albums named will be added -Suggestions close Jan 1st @ Midnight EST or when we hit 64 total albums -Seeding is based on average scores on AOTY.org (as of 12/19/25) -Polls for round 1 open Jan 8th -Polls for the first two rounds will be open for 1 week to give everyone time to lend their ears to the albums and give their vote, after that it will be 4 days for each round. This whole process will take a few weeks so be prepared! -Google Forms will be used for the polls. It will ask for your email just so it limits it to 1 response per person, but I will make it where it does NOT collect your email address for me to see! **NOTE: YOU CAN NAME ANY ALBUM FROM 2025, IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR AOTY OR EVEN AN ALBUM YOU LIKE!
