    I am not a Drake fan but people saying this album is bad are just not managing their own expectations. Drake is RNB now, it's no more complicated than that. And actually, sonically, it's a very good RNB album.

    People expecting to hear hip hop bangers are going to be disappointed but that's not what Drake sets out to be.

    After 2 listens my fave track is the Jay Z track theugh. I still want hiphok over RNB!

    Probably accurate, a little lower for me. I listened to side A(the rapping side) and there was all of 2 tracks I enjoyed (Sandra's Rose and Jay track). Didn't bother with the other RnB side except the Michael Jackson song

    Nobody is criticising this because of its lack of “hip hop bangers”.

    The production is pland, repetitive and boring and Drake is often too monotone. He struggles to grab the listener in.

    What do people get out of listening to drake sleep walk his way through the intro track? Like if I was a drake fan and I pop in this album for the first time am I to be like "oh yeah he's goin in" like its so boring lol he has nothing to say and nothing interesting to do musically whatsoever I just don't get it. He's just a poor artist imo but maybe if I was into RnB I would think he's good, idk

    Jay-Z & the guy in your avy literally made careers out of making braggadocious hip-hop songs like Survival. Obviously the skill set is not at the same level but the elements are mostly the same.

    “My mount rushmoore is me with four different expressions” sounds like something Jay would rap at pretty much any point in his career. If Drake is “saying nothing” on the intro track because he’s being flashy/braggadocious then idk how you can appreciate most of jay’s or big’s music.

    Because it's not as simple as saying something or not...he's just uninteresting overall. I know it's not popular to say for some reason (muh lyricism, muh dusthead) but he's just a poor emcee and on tracks where like I said he's literally sleeping his way through like that first track it's just like, what am I listening for?

    Yeah i will say ur point about drake making s--- sound way cooler than it rlly is, is a real thing! Played survival for my friend that don't know s--- about english and he thought the lyrics were fire! Im not lying :bookah:

    Not a fan of survival sonically but he says some cool stuff.

    But then (just talking a side) we get elevate, emotionless, 8 out of 10, mob ties.. whew
