Dec 28, 2017 In terms of content and lyricism I personally think Revival is getting an unwarranted hard time. I’m very critical of a lot of Eminem’s music but I think this particular project is getting too much hate. This project isn’t by any means a classic but I think it’s a pretty solid album.

Dec 28, 2017 It's Eminem's own fault. The tide shifted when he started sort saying he's past his prime in his own words (GOF, etc.). His own words become his own reality. I forget where i read it, but a long time ago, i remember reading about the proclamations of the greats and how it become prophetic in a way. Lil Wayne became a contender for GOAT when self-proclaimed as the 'greater rapper alive' on Carter II TI become the "King of the South" after proclaiming it NAS declared himself 'best lyricist' (got yourself a ...) Kendrick claiming king of the west Drake as run 'the greatest' (on forever) NIcki on "Im the best", etc. If Em is going to reminisce and sing about being past his prime, the rest of us will join him and it's evidently happening as blogs and media are taking swipes at him. When he declared himself a 'rap god', people were drinking the kool-aid. If he really lost his confidence a little, as discussed in walk on water, he needs to get that s--- back and deliver his own produced records with little outside influence.
Dec 28, 2017 Nah I think it's getting rated just right. Even everything I've seen completely trashing the album... they always still commend his lyricism as a whole, so it's not like his writing / the good writing / is being completely ignored. But as an album, it's pretty bad.
