Dec 31, 2017 I don't care about themes. It has to SOUND cohesive. And it doesn't. It sounds like a f---ing mess.
Dec 31, 2017 You don't care about themes? Seriously though. I get your point regarding the scattershot feel of the album's production, but there are a lot of redeeming qualities about this album (and I hate the poppy, inauthentic production as much as you).
Jan 1, 2018 Actually in many ways, Revival sounds cohesive. Castle and Arose are almost the same exact song. In Your Head sounds similar as well. So now it's about sounding cohesive? Not themes? It actually sounds very cohesive because there's tons of pop singers on Revival. Maybe 1 or 2 songs like Framed or Offended are out of place. But when you factor in the fact that the album has Ed Shereen, Alicia Keys, Skylar Grey Pink, Beyonce, and the Ambassadors, it's actually a very cohesive album. It has more pop than any other album. So in a way you have to admit, Eminem made the album very pop cohesive with the exception of a couple songs. You see, I'm trying hard to convince you. I believe somewhere deep down you can find some beauty in Revival. Now that I know it's not even theme based, I think that you have even more reason to find Revival cohesive. All the songs sound pretty similar to me. You just have to find some internal meaning.
Jan 1, 2018 Exactly. I think Eminem is totally over trying to make the whole album sound the same. Then he wouldn't be able to rap about what he wants. His mind is complex now, he's many things. He even said that he didn't want to limit himself to one thing.
Jan 1, 2018 If by sounding similar you mean how the songs are mixed and produced like dogshit then yeah, it' a very cohesive listen
