Snoop Dogg is releasing a new album produced by Dr. Dre, the West Coast rap legend has announced.

Snoop dropped the bombshell during a recent appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s Know Mercy podcast, where he revealed the project is called Missionary and is due to be finished in November, although it’s unclear how soon it will be released.

“I’ma tell you this, you’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months,” Snoop said at the 34:30 mark.

“And it’ll be done in November. It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.”

When Smith asked: “Why that name?” Snoop replied: “The first album was Doggystyle,” prompting a roar of laughter from the sports personality. “That is beautiful. I love it, man,” Smith commented.

Actually like the name and keeping the theme for the anniversary. But I don’t know why they didn’t release this during the superbowl.

The only reason anyone is gonna listen to this is because it’s being marketed as produced by Dr. Dre

You’re not wrong. It’s a shame dre never produced a k.dot album. I mean, that’s something to actually get excited about

Doggystyle was one of the greatest albums ever. I was in 5th or 6th grade when it came out and listened to that album non stop for a f---ing year probably. Beginning to end. It had no skips for me. That being said, even with a full on Dre production, I can’t have my hopes up too high. There’s no way they can match the genius of beats and lyrics and all around talent that was on the original. I’m scared.

Are we sure he wasn't just joking around with the whole Missionary thing? For one, isn't it 29 years ago Doggystyle was released? It's the 30 year anniversary for The Chronic in December, right? It's been reported before that they have been in the studio recently but I thought the idea was to drop something for the anniversary of the Chronic... so I think either Snoop was just messing around or he was so high he forgot it's 29 years ago lol. And why would he just announce that on some random podcast and not properly in some other way? I dunno man... either way I'm happy to get a new Dre/Snoop album if that's happening but like mentioned above I won't have my hopes up either, they can never match what they did 29-30 years ago on those two albums...

Because there's a 99.9% chance that it won't come out anyway.
The album's not even done, it's just a idea that they're still working on currently.

Unpopular opinion. Doggystyle is overrated to me. Always excited for the potential of a Snoop/Dre album, but we'll see. I also think Dre is overrated as well.

He has a lot more misses than hits, but his hits, hit pretty hard.
