When I see people my parrents age and older they are listening to the same music for decades. That music is still relevant. in 30+ years will the the rap music we listen to now even be rememered. Does out music s---? Or are we to over loaded in music due to the internet we don't fully enjoy it.

There is more and more diverse music being made now than ever before thanks to the technology being more readily available. Since the inception of pop music and radio, we've seen the same pop trends. Even in circles of classical music you had people clinging to the old ways and saying the youth were uncultured yada yada yada. I wouldn't trust an argument for our against this position. The most you can do is assess the differences from generation to generation and draw conclusions based on your personal priorities and preferences.

My parents listen to whatever is on the radio (not hip-hop tho), but they do still feel attached to the music they grew up listening to.

Naaaaaaah, can't go there. And I love the early 2000's too.

It's close, but I'd choose 90's over early 2000's by a tiny bit. 1994 to 1999 was pretty f---ing crazy with how many great albums came out a year. I could even put 1993 in the mix too, but I'll just stick with 94-99.

In 95 you had Me Against The World, Lifestyles ov da poor and dangerous, E. 1999, then the Infamous then a couple months later, you had Built 4 Cuban Linx then Doe Or Die, all within like 5 months of each other

I mean, just thinking about 1997... You had

    Mase Harlem World
    Biggie Life After Death
    Wu Tang Wu Forever
    Rakim 18th Letter
Will Smith Big Willie Style (laugh, but this was pretty big lol)
    Jay Z vol 1
    Busta Rhymes When Disaster Strikes
    Puff Daddy No Way Out

    Then 98..

    Jay Z Vol. 2
    Lauryn Hill- Miseducation
DMX It's Dark and h--- Is Hot
    Outkast Aquemini
    Big Pun Capitol Punishment
    Lyricist Lounge Vol 1
    Onyx Shut Em Down
    Method Man Tical 2000

I'll spare you guys the rest of the years, but IDK, I don't remember a time in hip hop like that 5 year span. :banderas::whew:

1999 might've been the most disappointing, but I remember reading the promotional ads and the lineup of artists... s--- had Jay Z, Nas, Wu Tang, Red and m---, Rakim, 2Pac, Biggie, Mos Def,m g--- Starr, Mobb Deep, Snoop on No Limit, Dr Dre, and the discovery of Eminem early on.

But only like... 5 of those albums were worth it lmfao. I still put it up there because of SSLP, Blackout, 2001 and I Am

We got kinda owned that year, especially by f---ing Nas' Nastradamus.

    MTY VERY SHALLOW LISTENING

    Apr 13, 2016
The music from the 80's, 70's, and 60's your parents still listen to is mostly best of the best, as the bad stuff has been filtered out and long forgotten.

This is true. I'm just curious if hip hop can be everlasting or if it really is just a phaze. This genre has went through a lot of bumps and twists the few decades it's been around.
