Now that time has passed, do we consider "Compton" to be a classic?

    It's been 6 years now since the album dropped. Compton had decent reviews but mixed reactions from fans due to the album not sounding like Chronic/2001 at all.

    But it still managed to go Gold without a radio hit which is impressive and Kendrick's penmanship was definitely evident throughout the album.

    To me, yes. Sure it wasn't Detox or that vintage Dre sound all over but he perfectly combined 'newer' artist with veterans and literally everybody delivered. Great addition to a nearly flawless catalog!

    No. Good album and a fitting victory lap from Dre but I wouldn't call it a classic

    Not really. It was a great album, way better than a Dre album had any right to be in 2015, but I don’t think it’s classic worthy.

    Got classics songs imo (Talking to my diary, Animals and It's All On Me), but is definitely not a classic record.
