Apr 14, 2016 in this short clip thug and lyor debate thug's "mystic" as an artist and his songwriting process http://www.thefader.com/2016/04/14/young-thug-and-lyor-cohen-debate-songwriting-cnbc thug >>>>>> this has me crying lmfao "you just record so many songs u gotta come back to them and --" "nope. no i dont. the critics come back!" least compromising artist oat
Apr 14, 2016 full episode available here http://www.cnbc.com/live-tv/follow-the-leader/full-episode/lyor-cohen/665421379916 won't load for me tho episode 1 loads fine but not the lyor ep
Apr 14, 2016 and i think thug should take lyor's advice. that's the 1 thing holding him back. digits would be so much better if it wasn't just an amazing hook with average thug verses
Apr 14, 2016 Honestly Lyor is right. It's what could hold him back and part of what worries me about HiTunes.
Apr 14, 2016 This is dope. I need to watch the whole episode. I wouldnt want to f--- with the way thug works but at the same time i do get lyors point. I think a lot of people have a hard time gettin into his music cus of this.
Apr 14, 2016 if anyone gets this to work please get the clip of them playing Birthday Song with fetty
Apr 14, 2016 Or they could not f--- with the way he creates and manage his output better dont f---ing let The Promise and Makaveli decay as leaks and then complain that thug doesnt make more fully fleshed out songs they exist. the people around him need to be better at their job.
Apr 14, 2016 Lyor is a good guy for Thug to be around imo. Probably got BLB & others calling everything great.
Apr 14, 2016 just finished watching the whole episode. decent watch. the discussion in OP got intense lyor: "right now kanye west is making over a million dollars a show, how much are you making SON?" thug: "50 f---in thousand!" they played a lil bit of fetty's verse on Birthday Song (working title) and lyor added a new 300 artist Conrad Sewell to the song but he hadn't told thug or fetty at the time of filming. they ended the episode with lyor showing thug the new version to get his approval (conrad's vocals sounded nice from the clip they played). thug's response was "you know what? i don't think it's a bad song. i think that i've heard mine's too much, to the point that anybody else on it i'ma be like 'nah i don't like it.' but the voc-- who is that?" lyor told him it was his artist conrad and thug replied "i'm gonna do you a favor and i'm gonna let you keep him on it. but, i, he's not gonna be on top of me. you should have him under me." then they agreed to go to the studio and do thug's vocals snippet of birthday song for those who haven't heard
Apr 14, 2016 i posted a link in here, u just gotta enter TV provider info http://www.cnbc.com/live-tv/follow-the-leader/full-episode/lyor-cohen/665421379916 i got audio clips of the birthday snippets they played, i'ma post em either tonight or tomorrow. episode is def worth watching
Apr 15, 2016 Agree that they shudnt mess with his creative process @Narsh but thug shud atleast give it a try. Maybe try and make more 'the promise ' songs.
Apr 15, 2016 My point is those songs exist and his camp is too stupid to know how to use them properly and is blaming thug
Apr 15, 2016 i love the way Thug carries himself against Cohen...ruthless af and thats how he should be....Thug is only gonna get better and better with time
