You really can't compare the two, I enjoy both for different reasons. I probably prefer American Football more because there's more action/excitement but I love European football as well.

This is basically a question of whether you are American or from the rest of the world.

For whatever reason it seems like European(mostly Brits) ppl go out of their way to hate on American Football and never even really give it a chance. When if they grew up here they would almost certainly love it. Maybe it has to do with the name of the sport, but if thats the case then thats really stupid/lame.

I have a friend who was born here, his parents split and then he moved to England with his Mom. He would come back during summers and now lives here, but kid loves "American Football" and soccer.

What's the excitement in watching a ball kicked around on a oversized field?

What's the excitement in watching a 3 hour game that never goes on for longer than a minute, where they have time-outs so often and even have media breaks where the broadcaster decides when they show a commercial and the game literally has to stop for it? :laff:

You both are trying to make both sports look lame and boring, but your summary of football (soccer lol) still sounds way more exciting than @Mano s summary of american football

I'm a huge NFL fan but it's nothing on how much I like 'soccer'. It's my favourite sport and favourite thing to watch in general, and of all the sports teams I follow if I could only pick one to follow for the rest of my life it would be my football team (Stoke City). You're always gonna get dumb MFers trying to compare them but it's pointless
