Feb 24, 2016 To me, 2012 was a pretty mediocre year for Em. This was transitional time for Eminem, you could hear it in his voice (he was going from the Recovery era voice to his MMLP2 era voice) and it was noticeable too. Not really his fault though, just aging. The songs are where Eminem is at fault though. These are all the songs Eminem did in 2012: 50 Cent - My Life (feat. Eminem & Adam Levine) Eminem - Freestyle (Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap) Obie Trice - Eminem Skit Obie Trice - Richard (feat. Eminem) Obie Trice - Richard (feat. Eminem) (Unmastered) Pink - Here Comes The Weekend (feat. Eminem) Rihanna - Numb (feat. Eminem) Skylar Grey - C'mon Let Me Ride (feat. Eminem) Slaughterhouse - Asylum (feat. Eminem) Slaughterhouse - Frat House Slaughterhouse - Our House (feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey) Slaughterhouse - Our House (feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey) (Extended Version) Slaughterhouse - Throw That (feat. Eminem) Pretty much all of them are features for other artists, so let's just go down the easier ones. Numb. The only line I remember from this track right off the top of my head was something about a girl's a--- and cops. It wasn't funny, and wasn't even successful, unlike LTWYL Pt. 1 and 2, and The Monster. Say what you will about those tracks, but who the h--- really likes this track so much? Not even fans of Em and Rihanna's other collabs really care for this track. Here Comes The Weekend. Same problem as the song mentioned above. These songs are actually very similar, with the main singers singing about two-thirds of the song and then Eminem comes in near the end, only for a short and subpar verse. Meh. C'mon Let Me Ride. This song is borderline notorious for how subpar it was. Skylar Grey appears on a lot of songs, usually for hooks and bridges. This likely the first full on song from her that you heard. Judging from this, I don't want to hear anything from her again. This isn't even like f--- Off, where the main singer isn't that great but at least Eminem brings a decent verse. His verse in this song is honestly probably the worst he's done since his return in 2009. There was no line that was memorable in a good way, and he wasn't even needed on this song. Now that all the singers ft. Eminem are done, let's get to the rappers. Asylum. I don't remember this one being too bad, actually being pretty decent. The only problem was that Eminem only does a hook and that's basically it. Frat House and Throw That. Once again, the song is fine, except that Eminem doesn't actually have a verse. Our House. Coincidentally sharing it's name with an unreleased 1999 track, this song features Eminem and Skylar Grey, and both do a good job. Eminem actually has a verse too, so that's even great. Richard. Obie and Eminem are back! That's great, except for the fact that Eminem doesn't have that good of a verse. He references Lose Yourself here, but it's so corny. He is referring to a girl only having one chance to blow in a sexual manner, not in the fame and stardom way he meant in the original track. Plus, I feel like Eminem covered the premise of him being a d-ck better in a later song, that being a------. Yes, those songs are different in content, but in premise, they are similar, as both are talking about how dickish Em can be. Now, on to the last song, My Life. This song, according to 50 Cent, was recorded in 2010, which explains why Eminem's verse would fit right in with Recovery. This track, was great, with a good message, and not only good lines from Eminem, but from 50 Cent as well, with Adam Levine doing nicely on the hook also. This was the best song of 2012 for Eminem. Other than My Life, there really were no great, standout tracks for 2012, like there were for 2009, 2010, and 2011. Not even Our House was standout to me. It was good, but that doesn't make it stand out. With all of this said, can we agree that 2012 is the worst year for Eminem since his comeback and one of the worst years for him musically?
Feb 24, 2016 disagree, that would be 2004. His verse in My life alone is better than over half of Encore
Feb 24, 2016 I'd say 2014 is his worst year post hiatus, d--- near all his verses were stale af in terms of content, & his choppy, nasally, offbeat delivery was at its absolute worst. Then i'd say 2012 immediately follows.
Feb 24, 2016 I don't get how people like KND but what do I know He had a couple great features but for the most part, I was extremely disappointed.
Feb 25, 2016 for me as an em stan 2015 was pretty good phenomenal - hated it knd - was fine , nothing amazing, but good all i think about , raw were both amazing to me medicine man top 5 verse 2015 imo
Feb 25, 2016 as a hardcore stan until 2009 i have to say that everything since relapse is more or less s--- Recovery had some great songs like GTC, but all in all too much nonsense content, stupid lyrics, whack beats mmlp2 is a complete disaster except rap god I honestly forgot most of his post hiatus stuff, even tho some songs were good (phenomenal, raw) he fell of big time
Feb 25, 2016 Our House verse is great, and the bridge>> And I kind of like his Here Comes The Weekend verse. Others on that list are terrrrible
Feb 25, 2016 Well it is surrounded by raw, denAuUN song and all I think about. Its normal that it stands out
