Not talking about social media but really the support you use to upload your music online.

I personally use YouTube, you can make cool vids for your beats, it gets a lot of views/plays, you have a unlimited cloud and it's easy to communicate with commenters.
I know most of you use soundcloud wich I don't understand. Aside from having clear stats and easy likes, it gets like 1/10th of the YouTube plays (with the beats I do), has a bad mobile app and has a quite limited cloud.

been using soundcloud for the longest time now and it's been infinitely better for me. i hate certain s--- about it but it's still faaaaaaaaar better for me and what i do than something like youtube

Most definitley for what you're doing. I'm def finding it tougher to stand out as a rapper on there myself, only thing that really has me looking at other options.

    SoundCloud is great for producers

idk, i think you can build a decent following on SC still, just look at struggle rapper on our joint account, couple hundred plays and got us almost 100 followers on it's own

Yeah but like I said, it's tough to stand out. 100 or so plays is ok, but I'm trying to break out of the SoundCloud rapper pack and actually build a following I can take to shows.

Plus I never said SoundCloud was bad, it just isn't working for me personally, much like youtube didn't work for you. It's a preference, lol.

I've never got any recognition from SoundCloud.
I've been able to slowly grow a fan base on YouTube.

Been posting there for about 8 months just over 200 subs and my top beat is approacing 5k views.

With YouTube I've found that it's all about how you title and tag your videos in order to get on the front page of specific search results.
