The term "follow up" in hip-hop.

    There are some rap journalists in my country who notoriously use this term instead of paraphrase. According to them, this Kanye's line "Ball so hard, man, this s--- cray, n-----" is a follow-up to Jay's line in NIP. Is it correct? I always thought the follow-up means continuation of something. Maybe I'm wrong tho and it has more definitions. Is there a good soul who could clear it up for me?

    I'm not gonna get even one view without mentions... ehhh
