May 6, 2016 A simple ad for Old Navy stores has turned into a snapshot of the extremes of race relations in the United States, fueling both an outburst of bigotry and a powerful reaction against it. Last Friday, Old Navy posted the ad to Twitter, promoting a sale with a photo of an attractive, happy interracial family in an embrace. Within hours, a backlash was apparent, with hashtags like #BoycottOldNavy and #WhiteGenocide, and messages like “Stop promoting race mixing, you degenerates,” and “I don’t shop at stores that are anti-White and promote race mixing.” In the days since, there has been a backlash to the backlash, with hundreds of people voicing their rejection of the prejudiced messages in the most personal way possible, posting photos of their own interracial families, often with the hashtag #LoveWins. @JMG
May 6, 2016 I recently talked to someone who claimed they had no negative feelings towards other races but they feel like each race should stick to "their own" when it comes to dating, marriage, having children, etc. but they don't consider it being racist
May 6, 2016 If I was a dictator I would make everyone procreate with someone from another race until there was only one race. That way we could get back to real issues like arguing over if that dress was blue or gold.
May 6, 2016 lmfao @ how ya are focused on who the father is and ppl act like racism doesn't exist when this is a clear example of it! theres nothing wrong with a company wanting to promote the idea that they are for EVERYONE not just a certain group.
May 6, 2016 Only thing that bothers me about it is that it's always whites and blacks racemixing. You'll never see a commerical with like an Asian person and a black person or a native person and a Hispanic. It's always black/white. It's still a non issue though like for real.
May 6, 2016 anytime an ad with a black/white couple comes out it receives backlash, i doubt they would even waste their time with other mixed race couples..the same thing happened to Cheerios when they released their ad with an interracial couple. They even made the decision to take down the commercial.
May 6, 2016 Maybe I'm wrong but I think the backlash is that it's obviously not the white guy's biological child. I guess the stormfronters see it as being a cuck. Raising another man's child lol.
May 6, 2016 That's because blacks & whites are the most conflicted races in America & companies will highlight them coming together over Mexican/Asians or whatnot. Not saying there isn't any racial conflict in others but white/black is the easiest racemix to promote
May 6, 2016 Defends it? I just know why these people are upset. I've seen it on political forums, sub reddits, /pol/, and I think it's a big distraction. It's a non issue.
