This Sunday (June 28), Los Angeles will be once again taken over by the hottest stars in entertainment for the BET Awards. While many will have their eyes on performances that will come from Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, and a red carpet that will deliver amazing looks, tons of slayage, and of course it’s fair share of question marks, we all wonder who will take home the big awards of the night.

Best Male Hip-Hop Artist

Nominees: J. Cole, Drake, Common, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Wale


Jay: Drake – The “6 God” is on a whole other level right now. He’s put out hit after hit after hit, and most of them were freebies, he’s the only one with a hip-hop album with platinum potential this year, and he’s shut down every major performance he had this year. Drake is this year’s best male hip-hop artist without a doubt.


Lindsey: Drake – Again, I will hope this goes to Kendrick Lamar, or even J. Cole, but Drizzy really did his thing this year, as always. The guy made an alleged “throw-away” album into a Spring/Summer b-----r-filled project, and we’re all still trying to get to the 6, just so we can say we’re running with our woes.


Sabrina: Kendrick Lamar – Kendrick Lamar, hands down! The man is a musical genius. His verses, his delivery, and his brand is sick. Kendrick’s music demands attention and respect. He teaches the masses with his music, and doesn’t sugar coat a d--- thing.


Lupe: Kendrick Lamar – Hate to break it to ya’ll, but K.Dot’s taking this nomination. From dropping his album a week early, to being so inspirational and having killer verses. This dude has it all, hands down!


Masani: J. Cole – Even though Kendrick delivered a very touching album, I have to give this one to J. Cole because on this album he really gave fans what they wanted before, during, and after 2014 Forest Hills Drive‘s release. He is consistent and puts forth his best effort every release. I felt his soul in this one so for right now I believe he deserves the title.

Breanna: J. Cole – This is the hardest category, but all I can say is 2014 Forest Hills Drive was everything! J. Cole’s songs never get old.

Shawn: Kendrick Lamar – This is my hardest pick. As great as Drake has been I don’t want to pick him over Kendrick or J.Cole who produced better complete bodies of work. In a toss up between the two I have to go with Mr.Lamar due to impact of To p---- a Butterly.

Kendrick or Drake will win.

Cole never gettin love at the awards If he were to win stuff, it'd be for 2014FHD. Too bad Kendrick had to come out with TPAB. That deserves it.
