if he keeps this up, i think his 9th album could potentially be his fourth best. but then again, this isn't the first time he's deceived us with good music.

Production was on point for this album. I really missed those dark beats. Bane, Psychopathic Killer, Die alone and Right For Me were 10/10 beats. Eminem produced most of this album which proves hes still one of the best producers in the game. Hopefully he produces his next solo album by himself

Agree. Easily my favourite track after a few spins. Pretty nice verse from Yelawolf as well.

pretty much every eminem song littered with that god awful post recovery flow.

die alone is a watered down stronger than I was. poverty. vegas was ok but royce's verse was garbo

Yeah I didn't mind Yela on the last track too.

I've literally heard like 2 Yelawolf songs in my life though.

    Street Prophet's ShadyXV Review

    Track 1: Shady XV

Personally I like it, but from a general look at it the beat can be seen as annoying, his flow is a little choppy but he packs so much content in I excuse it. Great moments include: Fack mention, Rihanna face sitting line, Beginning of first verse. Not much to say for this track, pretty weak for a album opener.

    7.6 / 10

    Track 2: Psychopath Killer

Possibly my favourite on this album, Royce and Crooked have great verses, as does Em. Royce's voice is a little off in this track, apparently he's got a grill or something(According to Reddit)? Crooked definitely has the best verse on this. Eminem does what he's been doing since MMLP2. Beat is amazing in my opinion, so simple it allows for a very diverse range of flows and rhyme schemes. Also my personal favourite part of this track YELAWOLF. His hook is too perfect. He should definitely do more hooks.

    8.9 / 10

    Track 3: Die Alone

IMO a very interesting track. When the snippets first got leaked everyone was very certain it was about Dre but I still can't call it. It could be about Kim or Dre or someone unknown to us. First verse is pretty forgettable. But the last verse is pretty good. The hooks a little messy, really wish Kobe didn't use so much auto tune.

    7.3 / 10

    Track 4: Vegas

One of the best tracks on this, Em's verse is probably his best in a long time. Love his flow in this. Although he gets a little hard to follow it's great and easy to figure out after a few listens. One of the greatest surprises was him doing the Versace flow, I loved it, and then he said the infamous Iggy line. And I knew it would blow up. This is the real return of Slim Shady. My only problem with this track is which verse was better, both Em and Royce killed it. Royce rode the beat perfectly and added something to the track that couldn't be filled by any other rapper.

    8.7 / 10

    Track 5: Y'all Ready Know

The beat is great on this. Apparently its an unpopular opinion but I truly think Ortiz killed this. He has some of the more memorable lines on this track. Although Royce is either tied or a close second to his verse. He had an array of great lines, most notable is the line about crying in a corvette. Joe giving us his classic flow, I love joe on everything so. Crooked surprisingly has the least memorable verse. Well I give Crooked my respect as a lyricist, he definitely thought he was more clever than he was on this track.
    Perfect beat and hook.

    7.9 / 10

    Track 6: Guts Over Fear

Em gives us something that we had, but the important part of it is he admits it here. He admits he's recycling material. Which I have no problem with, imo this is one of the greatest songs on the album for the simplicity of it. He's not choppy, Sia has a good hook, the beat is alright, and Em just comes clean. The 2nd verse trumps the first exponentially. "But what am I gonna do when the rage is gone and the lights go out in the trailer park"

    8.3 / 10

    Track 7: Down

Yelawolf really holds his own on this track, many people call him the weakest link in the Shady 2.0 roster but he is truly a skilled rapper. This song is very reminiscent of some Beastie Boy tracks. Love the hook. Can't wait for Love Story, I truly am disappointed that he only got one solo track on this album. In a interview he did he stated that Down was supposed to be on Love Story, but he left it because it wasn't as good as other tracks. Meaning he's got some good s--- coming.

    8 / 10

    Track 8: Bane

I was very excited for a new D12 song. And wellllll it didn't turn out like I had hoped, but alas it wasn't. Swifty and Kuniva truly shined on this track. They certainly made me reminiscent of the old D12. But unfortunately it seems all 4 of them were attempting to be a little bit more modern than the D12 I'm used to. If they made an album of this it would certainly be their worst. But in no means is it bad. The beat just doesn't work and Bizarre had an incredibly short verse. Not bad, But definitely not good.

    6.8 / 10

    Track 9: Fine Line

One of the greatest tracks on this album. Fine Line gives us a look into Eminem's life after the fame, after the overdose, and how he is truly trapped again. It is reminiscent of the opening verse of "the Monster" topic wise. I love his flow and the beats in this. But, I mean... like.. is he serious with that hook. It's not bad and it gets the job done, but it definitely could've been better. This is one of my favourite tracks because of the look into his life. OUTSIDAZ SHOUTOUT.

    8.6 / 10

    Track 10: Twisted

An incredibly different track. Skylar Grey in something that doesn't make me want to claw my eyes out (C'mon let me ride). It is certainly great. As much as I love Eminem as a rapper, I will never ever love him more than I do as a singer. Hailies Song, Stronger Than I was. This is definitely one of his greatest songs in which he sings. I would put Hailies Song as the goat in that category though. Yela's verse is great, again showing he is shady material. This song is one of the greatest tracks for Yela and one of the most interesting songs on the album. Very underrated.

    8.4 / 10

    Track 11: Right For Me

    Pass.

But seriously beats not favourable, his flows very choppy. More like he's plowing through the beat and not riding it.

    7.1 / 10

    Track 12: Detroit Vs Everybody

This was the hypest s--- when it came out. It still is. Royce kills his verse. Big Sean's is good but he goes on 8 lines too long. Danny Brown killllllls it. Like KILLLS IT. Em, surprisingly wasn't that good. He had a good verse but it wasn't what I expected from him, especially for a song repping Detroit. I'm looking forward to the remix when it comes out. THE BEAT IS GREAT.

At least we all agree that what Eminem did on this was better than everything on MMLP2.

Idk, i think Fine Line MIGHT be better than everything on MMLP, but I would take Evil Twin, Baby, and Groundhog Day over Shady XV, Die Alone and Right for Me any day

I don't want to beat a dead horse about how bad I think MMLP2 is but I'll personally take GOF, Fine Line and Die Alone over anything on MMLP2. As a whole I don't like the song but I think he killed his verse on Psychopath Killer as well. IMO that verse is light years better than anything on MMLP2. On a side note the little changes he made to the beat during his verse were vintage Eminem as well.
