Roddy Ricch was arrested in Queens for gun possession hours before he was scheduled to perform at Governor's Ball. However, the charges were dropped the next day.

Ricch, whose real name is Rodrick Moore, and two other males were in a black 2020 Cadillac, when they were stopped by a checkpoint at the music festival's location, Citi Field, around 6:30 p.m on Saturday. This led the police to discover a loaded weapon under the passenger seat. According to the officials, it was a Canik 9mm handgun with nine bullets in it.

Subsequently, Ricch of Los Angeles, Carlos Collins of New Jersey, and Michael Figueroa of Brooklyn were each charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

On Sunday, Figueroa was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on the accusations. The cases of Ricch and Collins, however, were never docketed. At the same time, a court clerk informed the defendants that their charges had been dropped. The office of the Queens district attorney did not reply immediately to a request for comment.

According to the criminal complaint filed against him, Figueroa was in the front passenger seat of the Cadillac. He informed a security guard who requested him to vacate the vehicle, "I am not ready to get out yet." He then allegedly removed the firearm from his waistband and concealed it behind the area rug.

That said, even though the charges were dropped, the whole fiasco still prevented the "25 million" rapper from performing at the Governor's Ball.

Meanwhile, the Saturday night's performance by Halsey was the highlight of the three-day event, which opened Friday with a performance by Kid Cudi. On Saturday, Ricch was listed third among the 20 performances.
