Oct 24, 2022 I’m one of the people who overly hate it because it’s super cookie cutter & generic, nothing creative at all. Sounds like the label and Paul gave him an entire blueprint of template songs with hooks and he overly exaggerated screamed fake emotion shouting corny punchlines.

Oct 24, 2022 When I think of Solid I think of Recovery. Love The Way You Lie nearly derailed the whole album for me for what the song did and what it was intended to do, especially at the time. Out of character for him and stood against everything he has said in the past about his thoughts on music. His recent podcast with Paul talking about it just confirmed my notion of that. No one was talking about the album, Eminem. Just that song and whole pop culture, fanbase it brought, it left a bitter taste and stain for Recovery for me. As time passed though, I appreciate the album and it’s great listen from start to finish with some of his best songs in his career like GTC. Also agree about the template thing with album being constructed with what was popular at the time and all Eminem did was just add verses to random beats being sent to him with everything in place before hand . But what Eminem did, was pretty impressive with what he worked with.
Oct 24, 2022 Recovery was the start of "pop eminem". It's the Start of his artistic downfall. Ditched Dr Dre for pop beats and pop artists. Ultimately this is where Eminem lost respect from hip hop heads and early fans. He became everything he was against and never looked back. It was at this point he went from making fun of the corny to becoming a Cornball himself. Sad moment in rap history
