Iniesta is back, Messi (unlike ronaldo) has actually been consistent , and with Andres back in the squad, Busquets will find more space and will have his usual reign of the midfield.

Since Bale is out, at least one of our wings will have much less need for defensive cover meaning one of our flanks will be able to play higher and have an iron fist on one side of the field Not to mention Messi being on the field glues Marcelo to defense so ronaldo playing RW and depending on Marcelo for support from the left won't help.
Left flank : Alba, Iniesta , Neymar
Right flank : Roberto , Rakitic (or turan) and Messi.

And one of these sides will have literally no need for defensive cover (our CB's are pretty good), so pick your poison.

Zidane will probably play 4-4-2 and try battling for the midfield. If they can have the forwards annoy busquets and try wrestling the midfield away with 4 players then they can take control of the game, but having the midfield pressing too high with the MSN having better support (allowing them to play higher with good service) from one of the flanks and Iniesta in the midfield means they'll be badly punished for doing so.

Game will be tactical. Zidane will allow barca to get comfortable in RM half then try guerrilla tactics to counter while barca will use that invitation to build attacking momentum.

It could very well be down to barca's bad luck, otherwise if the scoring starts, it could end badly.

Unless RM get an early goal or lucky break away , i can't see us losing, and if we manage to score first, then it's a sure win. and if we score early, then being eager for an equalizer could open the floodgates for us.


Barca's poor form is the only thing stopping me from outright calling an outright victory.

Pretty much a tale of two halves, we did very well to keep some compactness between the lines in the first half and a lot of interesting zonal marking & pressing from us in the 1st half but it's very difficult to keep that going for 90 mins. Some pretty poor possession play from Barca also helped. Not many clear-cut chances since both teams cancelled each other out.

Iniesta came in and obviously made the difference by invading that left halfspace that caused us all types of trouble and freed Neymar to stick with Carvajal. Barca got the goal and our intensity went down plus Zidane's subs didn't work out very well so for 20 mins I thought we were done for since Barca played brilliant football with Messi finding a lot of space near the middle/right halfspace. Thankfully some faulty defending of their own allowed us to rescue a point from what was going to be a very tall task. Hope both teams will be at 100% at what likely will be the league decider @ The Bernabeu.
