May 23, 2026 at 2:45 PM Very curious about what people consider summer music, that's why no 'rules' are needed
May 23, 2026 at 5:51 PM Aren’t you a surfer? Pretty much everything you listen to probably qualifies as summer music.
May 23, 2026 at 6:22 PM My mixtape will probably have some edm, club music, and house… basically anything that sounds like it was made for a rooftop party. That’s what comes to mind when I think of summer songs. Maybe sprinkle DJ Khaled yelling over half the tracks.
May 25, 2026 at 1:46 AM @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau Madvillan - Madvillany (aka finally some good f---ing food after Iceman) First DOOM project as I've said. Wanted to get this out earlier but I been busier than expected and in a weird headspace, still am but doing a bit better! I usually go track by track but considering how shoet the songs are and how many tracks are on the record i treated it as a full experience instead of focusing on individual songs. I loved the comic booky vibe with all the voices that sound like they're from old radio show serials but when Accordion came on didn't know how to feel. Took me a while to get used to how DOOM was attacking the beat and even the instrumental itself. I was iffy for a couple songs but once eveything clicked it really did. Starting off Madlib is f---ing insane, the construction of a consistent atmosphere while still keeping everything varied enough to not get stale is a feat in itself but the atmosphere itself is so unique that is fits perfectly with MF's style, genuinely masterful s---. His verses as Quasimodo are great as well. DOOM took me a second to get with, I just don't listen to much music that flows like this super often. His writing is super stream of consciousness and the way he constructs stanzas while floating between flowing perfectly then sometimes being a half beat or so late or early on purpose to add to the whole vibe is crazy. On the first listen America's Most Blunted is when I finally tuned my ear to the sound of the album, then after that is was basically nothing but hits. I ended up immedately running it back after I finished the album and then I ended up even liking the songs I was iffy on. I know its the point of a collab album but i really like that they both feel so equally ingrained in this album, even just having co.oletely instrumental songs aid in that vibe. Feels like a true tandem that you can only get from people at the top of their game. I can see why this wouldn't work for everyone but if you truly love the artform of rap from both the perspectives of the emcee and producer then you'll understand why this is stamped as a classic. Also some disparate thoughts i had was listening to Unlocked by Denzel Curry then this is like watching Goodfellas without seeing Godfather or some s--- lol, just experiencing where all the obvious influence is from even with prior knowledge that was the case is super interesting. Also realizing the influence DOOM obviously had on Ski Mask especially in the voice is interesting. Also shoutout to The Boondocks aka the sole reason i knew All Caps before listening to this lmao. Really f---ing cool project that ill have to continuously give more listens to and will have to go back through DOOM's discog! @Evad da goat Favorite Songs: America's Most Blunted, Curls, Money Folder, Figaro, Fancy Clown, All Caps, Rhinestone Cowboy. RATING 9.5/10
May 25, 2026 at 1:47 AM Might bump this s--- to a 10 before deadline but I really do just need more listens
May 25, 2026 at 6:50 PM I already have about half of a rough draft of a summer tape, I think I have an interesting concept if I can fit it around the tracks I chose but idk yet
