May 21, 2026 at 4:58 PM I honestly try to do a tbt review with every album but a lot of albums (especially the older ones) I just don't have much to say about the individual songs lol Mostly because I didn't "live" the background of which it is made you know what I mean? My longest reviews have been of Iceman, DOSS and (trash)Music because of the whole rollout. Like, the metallica album I can say the same about almost every song. That's why, even if I like albums, I prefer mixtape rounds where you can do 16 'little' reviews

May 21, 2026 at 5:17 PM @jankland addition to my previous post: It's the same with beefs. Like, Nas v Jay was incredible. Takeover, Superugly, Ether and all the other songs they took shots at eachother. But this happened when I was a toddler so I didn't "live" it. Same with, for example, Eminems great diss tracks or 50 vs Game etc. But I remember refreshing S80 when the Drake / Kendrick s--- went down. And they kept dropping lol So while this may sound a bit weird, and I'm not saying they are better btw, but songs like Euphoria, Push Ups mean more to me personally because it brings back those memories of listening to them while the beef happened and not 10 years later like w Nas and Jay who were besties already. Just hits different. And this album (as well as GNX) being in the aftermath of that event makes them more interesting than most of their other albums regardless of the quality. To me at least.
May 21, 2026 at 5:30 PM @AOTWClub Drake - Ice Man Everything good about this album gets ruined for me the second I pay attention to the subject matter. It basically feels like a reflection album after the Kendrick beef, with Drake trying to paint himself as the biggest victim in the whole situation. Read the room bro, there's kids being bombed rn, the global economy is crashing, and I'm meant to feel sorry for some millionaire? Bro, I don’t care that some celebrities didn’t stand by your side during a rap beef. I don’t care that your friendships with basketball players got ruined. The subliminal are becoming exhausting. None of that is interesting enough to carry an album. I listened to IYRTITL yesterday and it just reminded me how good his music used to be. I’m pretty sure his Marsh-like obsession with streaming numbers, instead of actually focusing on quality, is a huge reason why he’s been consistently dropping bad albums for the last 10+ years. The best and most obvious move would’ve been for Drake to forget about the Kendrick beef and stop mentioning it. Instead, he does the complete opposite. There are still moments here that sound good, but the album keeps getting dragged down by the same tired subject matter. It feels less like Drake moving forward and more like him trying to convince everyone he was wronged. And at this point, I’m just not interested in hearing that from him anymore Rating: 3/10
May 21, 2026 at 5:59 PM Oh i agree 100% the whole beef so was exciting while it was happening. I was so far removed from the Jay and Nas stuff to the point that I don't think Ether is nearly as good as people say lol

May 21, 2026 at 6:56 PM The beefs back in the day were a lot less annoying, there wasnt social media and d-ck riders commenting on them so you had people actually making up their own mind what diss was better. Not the hive minded bs of today, as a jay and nas fan that beef was awesome, even though I had just got into hip hop at the time.

But you experienced it, I didn't which makes it different from me. Again, not saying anything about the quality.
