May 21, 2026 at 1:32 AM g.d. marsh got trashed for giving this a 7 lmaoo But agree with a lot of points still finished my review though. Gonna try track by track again.
May 21, 2026 at 1:41 AM I can't believe you rated it higher than marsh. Do we have a new captain of the drake stans responsible for posting daily drake streaming number updates?
May 21, 2026 at 1:50 AM Its not the same cause at least Yeez gave his actual in depth thoughts on the record lol
May 21, 2026 at 1:53 AM Thats not true he said Drake has the #1 album and all other 2 albums this year he listened to s----d. Can't argue with that bro
May 21, 2026 at 3:10 AM Drake- Iceman Review Its well known I dont like Drake, but I dont hate all his music. Over the years ive found him extremely annoying, as a Toronto Raptors fan I hated seeing him act like a f---ing r----- on the sidelines and act tough and intimidating when we all know hes a sissy. But whats not known is that I enjoy when Drake's Rapping on certain songs, I hate when he sings in his boring monotone flow. I think the kids call him "melodic" but to me he sounds like a dying dog. Anyways to the album, ive found Drake in the past has the potential to k--- intros. Fireworks, Over My Dead Body, Tuscan Leather are all good examples of this and on Iceman Drake finds that same level with "make them cry". "Dust" is a pretty solid track, the production is interesting and drakes rapping is on point. The production on "whisper my name" is top notch and the song itself isnt bad either. And when "STFU Janice" ended i became concerned this album was gonna get a high score. BUT In typical drake fashion its all downhill from there. "Run from Atlanta" is not only cringy because Future and Molly are absolutely terrible but calling the song "Run from Atlanta" shows kendricks diss track is still on his mind. "Shabang"'s production is fun but Drake annoys me on the song. I kind of enjoy "Make Them Pray" i cant say much bad about it. "Burning Bridges" is just terrible, like absolutely terrible. The first half of "National Treasure" bangs, but the second half is awful especially the ice man nice man lyric, the beat change ruins the song completely. "Bs on the table" is so boring. "What did I miss" suffers from "National Treasure" symptom, banging first half and boring song ruining second half. "Plot Twist" makes me ready to nap and at this point i cant wait for the album to end. "2 Hard For the Radio" is cringy as f---, I just dont get what the f--- hes even doing at this point. "Make them remember" is a Drake song id typically gravitate towards but I find the beat really boring, which makes Drake come across board while rapping. "Little Birdie" is absolute dogshit. "Dont worry" is just a typical boring Drake song where hes singing poorly and also rapping poorly. "Firm Friends" what do people like about this? The beat isnt bad but like hes just so boring? "Make them know" im so bored and glad its over. Guys tough guys trying to be intimidating act is wearing thing I tried to like this album but its not good, he raps about the same s--- over and over again, he has literally nothing to say but the same thing a buncha different ways. Score: 4.5/10 Couple good songs and some pretty solid production @AOTWClub
May 21, 2026 at 5:57 AM Marsh has never heard a song in his life he just looks at the views and judges based off that. He’s actually deaf.
May 21, 2026 at 11:08 AM @AOTWClub Drake - Iceman Review: So I’ve never really been a fan of Drake. I think Take Care was great and “Lord Knows” is an absolute b-----r. I honestly wish he had leaned more into that style throughout his career instead of going for the softer material. There were a couple songs I liked on ''Nothing Was the Same'', but I haven’t listened to a single album since then, and honestly none of the singles he’s dropped over the years ever made me want to check them out. I still enjoyed a few songs here and there though. “Back to Back” was dope, and “Family Matters” too, even if he got wrecked in both beefs lol. As for this album, that first impression still mostly holds up. I genuinely vibed with the first five tracks, minus “Janice STFU.” The production and flows were solid, and for a moment I thought the album might actually surprise me. But after that, it completely falls apart for me. Then I realized I wasn’t even close to halfway through the album. I guess time moves slower when you’re stuck on an exercise bike. Honestly, this could've been much worse. I wasn't expecting to like this album in the first place. i thought i would likely enjoy a few songs which is exactly what i got out of it. Highlights: Whisper My Name. Dope track. The beat switch on ‘’Dust’’. That part slaps. National Treasures is pretty good also. 5.5/10
May 21, 2026 at 3:27 PM Let's go let's go! Let me start by repeating that Kendrick and Drake gave us a great show in 2024. Yes, Kendrick eventually won, but they both went in and I respect them for that. All songs (except the first, Like That and the last, The Heart part 6) were bangers! After the beef, Kendrick realized that people loved NLU and he gave us an album full of bangers. I immediately said that I hoped Drake would also keep that energy on his next album. Family Matters was great. If you listen to Iceman without knowing the beef, you won't understand most of it. When What Did I Miss dropped I was scared he would just play the victim for the rest of his career. Dude you are one of the biggest artist OAT bigger than Kendrick, Future, Ross, Metro Boom etc. combined just be confident ffs. The other singles I forgot immediately.. the Central Tee (?) one didn't impress me and while Nokia was catchy, for Drake standards it was kinda meh imo. After the beef I also checked out his other recent albums and yeah most of them are basically half filler, half bangers. Before Iceman; HABIBI I did not care one bit for this album. High Fives and Classics were kinda okay though. But I get that this was just an album to get out of his contract. 3.5/10 Maid Of Honor Same as Habibi but I liked it a bit more. Goose And Juice is catchy and I also liked Road Trips. Stuck is okay but gets repetive quick. 4.5/10 ICEMAN Make Them Cry is a great intro. I like that he reflects on what the beef did to him and he's actually vunerable (like the struggle with his sick father and paranoia) without playing the victim. It actually kinda reminded me a bit of Eminem intro's like Premonition. Also the beat (switch) is nice. Dust had to grow on me. The singing opening I thought was kinda corny at first until 'but now I gotta send it up' turned into the beat switch. It's kinda strange he tells Kendrick to blow the dust of his plaques when NLU was absolutely everywhere lol. Regardless I think it's cool and I love the confidence and energy he brings during the verse. Whisper My Name is top 3 on this album for me. The fact that he disses Carti already makes this a 10/10. Lmao. But this is exactly what I meant with Drake sounding confident, sending shots left and right, and his rapping is very good here. Also the hook is catchy and the sample during the second verse "counting me out" I love it. And last but not least; what a b-----r of a beat. Janice STFU This also had to grow on me at first ngl. Loved the first 15 seconds but the hook I wasn't the biggest fan of at first. The verses however are f---ing dope, Drake sounds great especially the second verse he's flowing. The content is not really new he repeats most of the stuff he already said on Family Matters (don't go back to your hood and plant some money trees) but yeah the way he delivers the verses this is very enjoyable to me. Ran To Atlanta, the first thing I was wondering: who asked for this? Me and Hendrix back by popular demand. Did Drake fans really want this or was Future -or his fans- just desperate to get in the spotlight again. I'm already tired of Future when he starts off the song. Not a fan of Drake's first verse either though the beat absolutely slaps. He sounds a bit whiny to me. Future's opening is absolutely awful but luckily he starts to rap later on and it's decent. Molly Santana has like 4 lines and then repeats the last line 5 times. Adds literally nothing to the song lol. Then Drizzy returns and delivers a fun short verse with the kinda energy I appreciate a lot. SHABANG, yeah this title is all that's need to be said. It bangs. This song could be ghostwitten by our very own Marsh given the content. However, rap having no hits until Drake drops something is actually a very fair point he himself can make imo. But regardless of the content I think everyone agrees this is a song to turn up the volume. Perfect for parties / clubs too. Make Them Pay is okay I guess. Smooth laid back beat and I like that he's sending shots to several people (p-----s Cole and Rick Ross, Khaled w the Palestine line) and the sample is nice. Wanting to be free of his label. Not as good as the first one imo but it's nice and I like that he lashes out at his (fake) friends. Burning Bridges I didn't realize the singing part was about Rihanna until I read it somewhere. That was pretty cool. After that dissing her husband lmao. That line 'getting bodied by a singing ....' is a classic. That whole part (the hook I guess?) is funny I like it and the video makes it 10 times better. The verse is a bit too slow for me though. National Tressures is another example of Drake flowing like water. I don't really follow his beefs with basketballplayers or his OVO friends so I dunno exactly what / who he's talking about. But it definitely sounds good to me. Second part the production / verse is also very enjoyable. I don't understand how people can call Drake monotone but at the same time praise 21 Savage. To be fair, I haven't listened to that much of his stuff but to me he's the definition of sounding monotone. Also don't see the point of having him on B's On The Table to just have one line lmao. Beat is cool and verses are fine but it does feel like a filler track to me. What Did I Miss. Wasn't a fan of the victim card and I truly hate the constant lets go lets go during the first verse. But it was an okay single (underwhelming though) and the production is okay. Basically; sonically nice but gets old quick. Plot Twist is another personal favorite. Drake being confident, flowing (actually my favorite song flow wise I think) and another b-----r of a beat. Not really sure what else to say about this tbh. Dope song. 2 Hard 4 The Radio will be getting a lot of plays this summer. Great hommage to Mac Dre! A beat that could have been on GNX or a YG album, west coast! The second part of the song especially the start is a bit corny lol but the beat really makes up for it. Another personal favorite. Make Them Remember. I love Dre but Drizzy has a very good point calling him a f---ing hypocrite. Also props for calling out that irrelevant Joe Budden. This is the 3rd song where he sends shots left and right to several people (again at Kendrick) on a laid back track Not sure if 4 songs were really needed. But I like it. Little Birdie is the second song I always skip. Nothing I like about this. Kinda funny because Don't Worry is another filler song to me. I find it very boring with the slow pace and idk it's not even bad but there's nothing about this that makes me want to listen again. Firm Friends really feels like another 'Make Them' songs where he speaks his mind on people that were/are close to him. It's cool but idk if I'll go back to this a lot. Make Them Know, especially after Firm Friends feels a bit too much. Again it is not bad but idk kinda repetitive. The highlight to me is when he admits his personality has changed and we will never see the old Drake again. Actually kind of a cool way to end the album. So, being honest: I really like this album. Aside from 3 or 4 songs I didn't really care for. But some of them, not sure if I'll go back to them a lot. However more than half of this I definitely will. Very happy w this one! When I started this review on tuesday I already decided to give this an 8/10. But when I saw @Yeez giving this an 8 I kinda wanted to change it either to a 7.9 (to keep him as the biggest stan) or a 8.1 (to take the stan throne) lmao but I'll just be honest and go with my initial rating: 8/10! Thanks @Drizzy for sharing your album with us @AOTWClub
May 21, 2026 at 4:41 PM MM is making Jank style reviews, Drake might be reviving this thread this is crazy
