May 19, 2024 I really need to watch Mad God still. My brothers favorite horror movies are the OG Halloween and The Exorcist so that kinda rubbed off on me on top of enjoying all the franchise horror icons, seen all the Chucky stuff besides the last couple seasons of the show, seen all the Psycho movies all the Freddy movies, only ones I haven't gotten too deep into yet are Texas Chainsaw (only saw a couple of the movies) and Friday The 13th (same deal), also some boring answers for newer ones like Hereditary, Barbarian, Terrifer, It Follows, etc. Also watched the original Suspiria recently, gotta watch the remake now. Ones I really want to watch but haven't yet are Midsommar, Late Night With The Devil, Speak No Evil, Skinamarink, and Stop Motion. Idk if the stop motion trailer was posted yet in here I forgot, got very good reviews from what I've seen.
May 19, 2024 I struggled with that movie, I tried to like it but it just wasn't it for me. I saw you liked my movie post, have you seen joyride or Mr Brooks?
May 19, 2024 Yeah fair definitely a weird tone to balance, I love Mike Flanagan's work before/after Doctor Sleep. Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass are some of the best shows on Netflix imo, not super scary but really good Stephen King esque character work. Haven't seen those two but will add them to my Letterboxd watchlist!
May 19, 2024 Mr Brooks I saw somewhere and got interested but never got around to watch it. Gonna look for that and joy ride!
May 19, 2024 Late Night w the Devil is definitely top priority for me along w Thanksgiving and Strangers remake. This also seems interesting: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt9204328/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_dark%20har Children of the corn s----d a--- but the idea (books) were very dope. Execution was just bad. Also I still can't see the praise for Midsommar. Its not horror just very very weird. Not sure if u seen it (cc @Ripper Roo @Moonmonk7 @Justin Trudeau ) but A Classic Horror Story follows a similar premise excepts is really really good imo
May 19, 2024 Midsommar was weird and I didn't like it very much. Late night with the devil I'm on the fence about I dunno it was okay, the old looking broadcast is very well done
May 19, 2024 Midsommar is done very well honestly. The landscapes, filming, premise. But to me its like they wanted to make some artsy movie and it comes off a little pretentious. In a 'if you don't like it you don't get it' type of way lol. But I was so looking forward to it, and then it was just too long, especially the corny scenes being minutes long. It makes you feel uncomfortable (which is probably the idea) but when it was over I was like... never again. I love it when they make 'old' movies tbh
May 19, 2024 I f--- with Freddy’s heavy but I also grew up with the franchise since I was 9 and had been waiting for the movie for about half my life (wow putting it in that perspective is crazy) so I’m gonna be biased. It’s a little goofy but it’s a good time, I heard FNAF 2 is supposed to be much more scary. Megan is literally if the Child’s Play remake from 2019 was good. Check out the unrated version instead of the PG-13 version
May 19, 2024 The lore of the games is morbid as f--- if you really look into it, I guess they just couldn’t get too grisly with the details since they wanted to keep it PG-13
May 19, 2024 Do you guys have a movie that y’all have had multiple chances to watch but just refuse to? The only reason I bring that here is because that movie for me is Dream Child. I’ve loved Elm Street since I was 6, it was the first horror movie I ever watched. I’ve seen every series entry EXCEPT for Dream Child even though I’ve had many opportunities to. Just if I’m in the mood for Elm Street I’ll throw on the OG, Part 3, New Nightmare, h--- even FvJ. Dream Child can’t be worse than Freddy’s Dead though right? I just don’t wanna sit down for a movie where I know I’ll roll my eyes through most of it
May 19, 2024 Having freddy's dead as the standard ain't saying much tho, almost anything is better than freddy's dead, IDGAF about elm street after the third one tbh, I always skip the rest until new nightmare on my marathons
May 19, 2024 Freddy’s Dead is genuinely bottom of the barrel for me in terms of the big icons. I’m taking seed of chucky before Freddy’s Dead. Honestly, I’m still taking Freddy’s Dead over Jason Goes To h--- because at least Freddy’s Dead HAS Freddy in the movie for most of the time
May 19, 2024 I was about to say at least Dream Child had that really cool dream loop sequence but I think that's actually the 4th one lmao Human Centipede is something I refuse to watch, I can can watch the whole bedroom sequence in Terrifer 2 but some strap a mouth to a butt and I'm turning it off immediately
May 19, 2024 I’m never watching Human Centipede, I just can’t man that South Park episode that parodies it is funny as f--- tho
May 20, 2024 But yeah it took me forever to watch Night of The Living dead. Knew it was called a classic but watched it for the 1st time last october lol
