May 6, 2021 Seeing Em live just isn't what it used to be for a couple reasons 1 is dude seems like a greatest hits act live. Never performs much of his newer stuff even when he just put out music just makes his stuff seem not up to par. Second is he just isn't the same performer back between recovery to MMLP2 dude was on another level didn't need a hype man or back tracking for s--- would rap every word with a vein going down his forehead lol. I remember seeing him perform nowhere fast at the mtv awards show on tv...it's sad seeing your hero's fall reminds me of how bill burr said "it's like that football player who limps to the field and reminds you of your own mortality" dude was gased out after saying 3 words.
May 6, 2021 I remember when rap god first came out a week or so after he performed berzerk on snl with so much obvious lip syncing and back tracking it was embarrassing. Someone said something like "why does he make songs he can't perform" then a few days after that he performed on the YouTube award show and did rap god in full supersonic speed and all dude didn't even look like he had the lyrics down 100% and still killed it.

That was hard to watch lmao I remember when he came back, 2009-2011 performances were hot as h---, him nailing it, hitting pocket on every song like it was nothing, ah f---ing time
May 6, 2021 It's hard to find but his performance of no love with Wayne on snl was peak Em performance same as the INAD performance with dre and Skylar. Bro I've stuck with Em for a long time and there's only ever been 3 times where I publicly cringed over what he did and that was the Bruno 69 how bad revival is and the trump freestyle I don't think I've ever heard it again since it first aired. Literally cannot repeat even a pair of words from that besides coffee pot lol.

May 6, 2021 Agreed. I saw him in 2012 and 2013 and it was great, but it felt like a "greatest hits" set list and obviously nowhere close to his performances in his prime - which is understandable. Still, the energy, passion and vocals were solid. In the last 5+ years his performances seem really bad tho. Awful set lists, terrible vocals and he's just out of breath all the time. Mr Porter as a hype man is terrible as well.
May 6, 2021 It seems from what I've seen on Youtube that he stopped performing new songs after Recovery. That's the last album he really liked to perform live, and it makes sense cause it has radio/tour vibes.
