Jan 15, 2021 If you've never listened to Jungle Brothers they were a group from NYC in the 80s/90s who were part of the Native Tongues Posse along with A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul—their music is definitely in the same vein as them. I haven't listened yet, but this is a lost album from 1992 that got shelved because the label felt it was too experimental/not mainstream enough. Some of the songs were previously released on an EP by one of the producers of the album but I've never heard any of them as far as I know. Unfortunately it's only available if you're a bandcamp subscriber at the moment but I'll probably join for a month to listen/try it out. https://billlaswell.bandcamp.com/album/crazy-wisdom-masters
Jan 15, 2021 Good looks! Admittedly Jungle Brothers was one Native Tongues group I never really clicked with, but I'll check this out nonetheless!
Jan 15, 2021 They’re def not nearly as good as Tribe or De La, but I liked the first few albums back in the day. Haven’t listened yet but the touted experimental nature of this intrigues me.
Jan 16, 2021 Never heard of them but seems interesting and I LOVE lost media and s--- like that. Nice.
Jan 19, 2021 @Sign Language were you ever a fan of 90s jazz rap I know you're a self-described dusthead
