Jan 4, 2021 I was looking at the credits of Dre's Chronic 2001 album and Eminem was credited as a writer for that song. So I went back to listen to this classic track since it's been a long a--- time and realized Em is singing the hook. I've heard this track many times but for some reason never made the connection. Mind bogglng. Em played a big role on this album. Not only did he write Forgot About Dre, he played a part in "What's The Difference" and is credited as writer on a couple other songs. And that was back in 1999. Very early in his career. There's no denying Eminem has contributed heavily to Hiphop.
Jan 5, 2021 Eminem was my favourite rapper for years in my teens before I made the connection. I thought I was r-----ed.
Jan 5, 2021 Guess we're in the same boat lol. Tbf this was released in 1999 and Em sounds nothing like he sounds on SSLP which was released in the same year.
Jan 5, 2021 Wow. I didn’t know that he sings it. Doesn’t sound like him at all. I thought it was a generic artist.
Jan 5, 2021 Shiiet. And I thought i was gonna make a fool of myself with this thread. It does sound like it was some random artist.
Jan 5, 2021 But yeah, it was a probably the next year I realised it was Em on the hook as well. Not 20 years later! But def later.
Jan 5, 2021 I think it’s Eminem and Knoc-Turn’Al together on the main hook. But that’s Em whispering “The Watcher”
Jan 5, 2021 I always thought it sounded like him but decided it was someone else... it being 2 people would make sense
Jan 5, 2021 d---, I didn't know that Em sang the hook too. I've always loved the song though and the hook is great as f---, and when I know it's Em, I even love it more now, Em sounds different but awesome as h---.
Jan 6, 2021 Interesting...didn’t realize that at that time...but re listening it now...you can tell it’s him weird that they didn’t just put featuring Eminem on this track...
