Jul 27, 2016 My last thread about hanging some of my favourite albums on the wall met a pretty positive response, so I thought I'd make a thread for this too. Preface You can skip this part, but if you want to know more about me and my car, expand the spoiler below. Spoiler: Hasman and his Honda Accord I got my very first car in 2010, a 2008 Honda Accord sedan. Nothing about the car is spectacular, everything is just adequate. Yet there are few things in this world I love more than my car, and even after 6 and a half years of owning it, I still keep it in immaculate condition. I love my car, and why shouldn't I? I picked up my first gram of weed in that car, I drove to my first booty call in that car, I drove to my LAST booty call in that car. I sipped lean for the first time in that car, I ate a--- for the first time in that car. I fell in love in that car, I fell out of love in that car. Honestly, the only intimate thing left for me to do in that car is probably fap, and I wouldn't put it past myself to do that. In just a few more years I'll have owned that car for a decade, but whose counting? I'll drive my Honda until @Koolo buys me a BMW M4 (or at least until I can afford one myself). And honestly, I'm in no rush to see that day come. But enough about my relationship with my car. My Yesterday I spent the day yesterday giving my car some love before I start school again in September. I figured this is probably the last free summer I have for the rest of my life, so now is a good a time as any to do a bit of work to my car that I've been meaning to do for a minute. I spent the morning swapping out my old grille for a new one, and changing the lights to an HID/LED set up. First, here is the final product: The Process Here's the before shot. Lights are off, but here's a shot of the car with the original lights too: Bumper is off: Comparison of the new grille (top) vs the old one (bottom). The old one had taken like 8 years of rock chips and abuse, so I wanted to change it out. Decided to switch up the look since I was doing the work anyways: Old grille is removed, and the new one is fitted in to the bumper. Now for the lights. The bulbs in the fogs are swapped with 4700K LEDs. I fastened the bumper back on to make sure the new bulbs work. Now for the headlights. Passenger side HIDs are done. Went with 6000k. And now the other side is done. Here's a shot with the garage door closed: And another with it open. The lights pick up as blue on the camera for some reason, when there's sun light in the picture as well. The naked eye sees white, with a very light tint of blue: Buttoned up, washed, and waxed: And parked: That's It Thanks for reading, if you guys want more threads like this I can keep doing them. I'm raised in an immigrant household, so that means I agreed to a life time contract of free labor for my pops the day I was born. That also means we're not allowed to pay anyone for anything, because we'll do the work ourselves, even though 75% of the time, we really SHOULD pay someone to do it properly. But f--- that, save money yo.
Jul 27, 2016 Hondas are solid. My dad drove his Accord 40 miles to work every morning. Never needed a day of work. Where did you family immigrate from?
Jul 27, 2016 HID headlights make such a difference. I switched mine out a few months ago. I'm the same way with my car though, I wash it every other weekend, to be honest I can't relate to ppl who keep their cars dirty af.
Jul 27, 2016 nice improvement but opened thread and was really disappointed it wasn't a 2001 PT cruiser
Jul 27, 2016 Punjab. A few years after they immigrated, I was born. I was raised in a very punjabi household but grew up as a Canadian kid so I had an identity crises for a few years. Word, I'm perplexed by people who have 0 desire to keep their cars respectable. If I get in your car, kick away 3 empty water bottles just to sit down have have to settle down to the smell of garbage, then I'm automatically questioning whoever the f--- raised you. Imagine taking a car like that to see a girl for the first time. Wow. Same bruh, but it's probably a top 3 past time for me. I started working on cars when I was around your age. I'm still trash at it tho lmao.
Jul 27, 2016 Yeah I grew up helping my Dad with s---, he can fix anything. I've learned a lot though, just a lot of trial and error. You break your own s---, you fix it yourself.
Jul 27, 2016 If there was a way I could pick up the garage I work at and park it right by your home I'd love to work on this (and subsequently my Subaru too lol). I'm always a big fan of these type of subtle body kit works and proper lighting, if you can add some stuff like a better air intake/filter, A1 tires and a sound system then really that's all you need for a long-term car.
Jul 27, 2016 how rich are you wtf, just took in the albums thread and u have like thousands of dollars worth of liqour
