Nov 23, 2020This album isn’t about Kanye anymore. Its about hip hop. Hip hop won the race and started to rule the world the day that MBDTF came out.

To me this album is the best hip hop album of all time. It represent so much for the genre.Slyk, Boos, DKC and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

This album properly introduced me to kanye. Before that I only knew his mainstream songs like Stronger and Gold Digger. Man when that first 'Can We Get Much Higher? So Hiiigh' on Dark Fantasy came up, I ascended. His best album in my opinion (even though 808s and Heartbreaks is a very close 2nd)asvdawg, lil uzi vert stan, Ricky and 1 other person like this. -

Being 16 in this era, makes this prime music for me. Like, objectively I guess people can argue that other rap is better, but to me, this is the pinnacle of hip hopasvdawg, Jay Zeus, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Good Fridays was one thing I wish Kanye wouldn't have ended so soon. Christian Dior Denim Flow and Don't Look Down > *
Don't Look Down was the first time I heard a Big Sean verse and said, "Okay." And this was f---ing 2010, man. Crazy. Took him a while to come back around to that level of lyricism.Sav Stanfield, Ordinary Joel, Mikey and 1 other person like this. -

Omfg. Today is a very f---ing special day. 10 years. Finally. I remember being geeked about this same day last year. But this marks a full decade. I was a few weeks removed from just turning 21. Kanye restored my faith in music and humanity in The Summer and Fall of 2010. He had that whole summer on lock with Good Fridays. I miss those days.
Fell in love with a freak college freshman bih @ Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, during this particular album rollout. Listened to all The Good Fridays religiously and splashed little mama to 'em. Had her so hooked on Kanye, she chalk-sketched The Alternative Version of The College Dropout Cover Art over her windows. This little gem from "Blame Game" comes to mind.
"You always said Neezy, I ain't your right girl.
You'll probably find one of them "I like art"-type girls." (I know the lyric said Yeezy, but she called me Nia and Neezy. Two nicknames shorty gave my black ahh. Appropriatin' this melanated meat, this pretty little JuggaLette thotty was. *Baby Carti Yoda Voice* *Clears Throat* But I'll digresssssss. *Patrick Stump Voice*)
I miss my boy Matt Kessler. I f---ing miss him. He didn't even get to make it to 30 and he would have been this September 20th. My f---ing heart hurts. Bittersweet day, indeed. We blasted this and Recovery and became the best of friends through Skype Conference Calls with a mutual friend of ours Ben Stone and this dweeb named Anthony Russo. My Jersey Boys. R.I.P. Matt Kessler. I'mma smoke and blast this album for you, my dog. *Sighs*Last edited: Nov 22, 2020Sav Stanfield, Ordinary Joel, Reed Richards and 1 other person like this. -
