Mar 22, 2018 I ask because of 'Tragic Endings'. Sounds like it leaked in 2010. I am also convinced that 'Castle' is old. There is no way a song this good was recorded recently.
Mar 22, 2018 People will deny it but Castle is definitely older (how old is debateable) than this album recording era because the vocals sound completely different when he switched to the remix at the end of the song. Don't remember time stamps or anything but if u listen w/ headphones u can tell eminems voice is a different tone and the recording sounds like it's totally different
Mar 22, 2018 Castle is definitely old. Can tell by the writing more than anything. When it switches back to the Castle beat on Arose, that part is probably new. Writing is very sloppy compared to the rest of Castle.
Mar 22, 2018 'Castle' is Relapse 2, recorded during his post-Relapse flawless flow era. Play it next to 'Cocaine'. My guess, anyway.
Mar 22, 2018 Castle was recorded after In Your Head so it can't be that old Source: That one Shade45 Q&A
Mar 22, 2018 When each song was probably recorded. 1. Walk On Water (Summer 2017) Includes lyric about "No Favors. 2. Believe (2016-2017) Could've been recorded at anytime during the album. 3. Chloraseptic (Summer 2017) That's when 2 Chainz and Phresher both recorded their parts, and I believe Em recorded his original verses shortly before that. 4. Untouchable (Summer 2016) I believe this was inspired by Philando Castile's shooting and the BLM movement. 5. River (Spring 2016) This was probably one of the first songs finished for the project that wasn't a recycled song. Ed Sheeran sent Em and his team his part in March 2016. 6. Remind Me Intro (Fall 2017) This one was probably one of the last one's done, because Dre returned to producing, right when this album was finished and he's the producer for this beat. 7. Remind Me (2016-2017) Could've been recorded at any time during these sessions. 8. Revival Interlude (2013-2017) Alice's vocals were recorded a couple months before MMLP2 was released and was originally submitted for that album. Flashforward to 2017 and Em took it, trimmed it and made into an interlude. 9. Like Home (November 2017) I truly believe this one was recorded at the last second. Due to the success of his Trump cypher, he quickly wrote some more lyrics slandering him, got Alica Keys to record a half assed chorus and a Just Blaze beat lying around. And switched from a drug theme for the album to a political theme at the last second. 10. Bad Husband (2016-2017) This one could've been recorded at anytime during the sessions, although I believe it was done in late 2016/early 2017. 11. Tragic Endings (2010-2012) The s-----y mixing and mastering, and Eminem's delivery makes me believe this was a song made during the earliest sessions of MMLP2 that got cut for much better songs. But he liked it enough after revisiting it, and threw it on the album to fill up some space. 12. Framed (Spring 2017) Fredwreak probably created this song when he was with Em in Detroit around March-May 2017, hinting at being in Detroit during this time on Instagram. 13. Nowhere Fast (Summer-Fall 2017) I don't know the exact time period this song was created. But it definitely was a later song. 14. Heat (2016-2017) This one, like Remind me could've been recorded at anytime during these sessions. 15. Offended (2016-2017) I'm conflicted with this one. The lyrics have outdated references, but Illa The Producer just recently started blowing up with Lil Pump. I'mma assume mid 2017. 16. Need Me (Summer 2017) Considering this song sounds like a outtake from Pinks album, this song was probably meant for her album, and Em took it, added a verse and slapped it on his album at the last minute. 17. In Your Head (2016-2017) I have no idea when this one was recorded either, but based on Eminems delivery, I'mma say probably in 2017. 18. Castle (Fall 2009) This song was definitely an older Em song, he was saving for a certain time. Has the "Relapse into Recovery" transition voice and the flow is the smoothest on the entire album along with Tragic Endings, both songs probably recorded years before Revival. Coincidence? I think not. 19. Arose (Summer 2017) Definitely one of the songs created later on to tie loose ends. Probably recorded around the second time as Walk On Water. The reprise of "Castle" was probably recorded during this period to, judging from the flow.
Mar 22, 2018 WTF is this? Somebody with logic and common sense in the Eminem section? In all seriousness your opinion is spot on.
Mar 22, 2018 Tragic ending sounds like a demo. The transition from second verse into the hook is the laziest god d--- thing. This sounds recorded and mixed by some 16 yr old kid in his mother's bedroom closet. River sounds amatuerishly mixed, cut and pasted together as well. Pink track...what is this? Clearly a leftover. No way they aimed to achieve that sound. The rewind at end of arose and the parts before it clearly sound like his shittier newer style compared to others parts of the recordings. Why does castle not sound like that and is the one song where he SLOWS his s--- down and let's the beat breathe. Sounds previously written. Whole album is garbage except for maybe 7 minutes of the cd. Sounds like b-sides and leftovers. No way these were all recorded in the same studios/settings during a similiar time frame. Except for like home. Clearly modern day Eminem. What I don't get is, how can someone claim to have written a hundred songs....and this is what made it?
Mar 22, 2018 People are so f---ing stupid. He can rap exactly how he used to. He is a professional. He can sound like he did at whatever older period anyone chooses.
Mar 23, 2018 Then they're both older songs because I trust my ears when I can tell you the last castle verse has a split and overdub in it late in the last verse where he lays the rewind verse and you can tell from that point onward by the subtleties and tone of his voice and how it's recorded definitely from the 'revival' sessions.
Mar 23, 2018 Castle was definitley recorded from Recovery because he does not sound like that anymore and cant rap like that anymore In your head might have been for mmlp2 (em did say there as over 100 songs recorded for mmlp2) Tragic endings doesn't even sound mixed so im guessing Recovery or 2013 since em was working heavy with skylar around that time
Mar 23, 2018 Yes This glad im not the only one to notice the whole tragic endings sounding like a demo unfinished mix
Mar 23, 2018 I know there's a difference, We've discussed this before. Its most likely because the recording session for Castle his voice was rough for whatever reason, maybe he recorded multiple songs that day. Then when he cut in the new part for Arose his voice was fresh, There was also probably a couple months between sessions. I think realistically the song is 2-3 years old max.
