Imagine hating on the eminem show when it came out.

Seems like a forever trend eminem has had since the slim shady lp honestly

I guess I was too young to see all the hate. I was 13 when this album came out and thought it was dope. TES/8 Mile is when Em hit his peak of fame.

I remember loving the album but being like wow he doesn't do punchlines anymore

Then only punchline from that album on first listen remembering was "Business" - no such thing like a female with good looks who cooks and cleans

What was incredible about TES was how much of a "grower" the album was....The first time you listened to the album, the only thing that jumped out to you as being dope were Til I Collapse, Soldier, and Square Dance...but over time? Wow, everything on the album grew on me....such a good album that it took me 4 MONTHS of constant listening before I started paying attention to Sing for the Moment....best album of his career.

This is a bad example. It was LOVED at RB. Say Goodbye Hollywood was the song that blew absolutely everyone away.

Em never used to do 'punchlines'.

"Put your hands down, b----, I ain't gon' s---t you. I'ma pull you to this bullet and put it through you"

thats what made him so incredible, he had a sense of wordplay without having to resort to corny similes like he does now. its just a really bad habit he picked up in 09/10 when he discovered Wayne and Drake

I was mainly only on hitemup.com and Boxden back then, but it seemed like this album was pretty much universally loved on those sites.

I do remember downloading the album in order track-by-track and it not being anything like what I anticipated. Lol. I f----- with Business, Superman and Till I Collapse hard, but I loved the entire album by the next morning. Still my favorite Eminem album.

People were freaking out when the hooks leaked and they weren't particularly that good. The verses saved that cd and everyone loved it when it leaked in full.
