Gary Johnson now sits at 13% in the CNN polls. With the way this convention is going so far, I see him easily reaching the necessary 15% to be part of the debates. How do you think this influences the next 4 months?

I would like to assume he will mainly pull from Trump supporters but Bernie supporters seem just as confused as Trumpsters when discussing politics.

Would be a good candidate if he didn't want open boarders.

I don't think he'll "easily" do that. This is one poll. He needs to increase to 15% in FIVE national polls before the deadline (not sure when that is). Keep in mind he'll need to do this post-conventions, which is likely a time where both parties will see their base consolidate more around the nominee (I expect a bump for both Trump and Clinton). Having said that, given the sky-high unfavorable numbers for each nominee, he's definitely got a shot at pulling it off. There's certainly an appetite out there for additional options, particularly for angry conservatives and recovering BernieBros.

Unfortunately for libertarians, they couldn't have picked a more charisma-deprived candidate. If he DOES make it to the debates, I predict his support goes down, not up. Remember his performance in the 2012 primary debates :emoji_sob:

I think he will pull it off, but Swizz is probably right. I see him getting embarrassed against Trump and Clinton. They probably won't even waste their time talking to him or about him. I see it similar to how Bernie and Hillary treated O'Malley.

I do not see the appeal of him for liberals or Democrats. I do not see his appeal to evangelicals as he is against them on all social issues. I see him stealing the Republicans who no longer give a s--- about abortion or LGBT. He will steal conservatives who realize Trump's limited amount of proposals are not conservative at all.

Also, I'm all for legalizing weed, definitely decriminalizing it, but I do not think I want my President to be a pot head. I wouldn't want a drunk either for what it is worth. He claims he quit 6 months ago but c'mon........ He also said he had to pick up weed to quit drinking.

Most libertarians are as deluded as anarchists when it comes to their stances on international politics.

He's libertarian, so he's anti-inventionist and against the war on drugs. He also supports gay marriage, and he's neither Crooked Hillary nor Trump :)

At this point, if he isn't Trump or Hillary, what could it hurt, right? I don't know. Either way, we're looking pretty doomed. Maybe that's just the realization that this pessimism of mine is starting to hit too close to home.
