Dec 9, 2017 He strongly protested Bush and his policies. In a Recovery-era interview, he mentioned once he totally loved Obama (although he didn't talk about it much to avoid alienating fans who dislike him). I don't see how his recent political verses are a surprise. And I don't see the point of him not expressing his opinion. It would make more sense for him to express what he's actually angry about now than what he was angry at a few years ago.
Dec 9, 2017 Bro he has nothin in it. He’s rich. I doubt he’s having politicial conversations w his friends. Dude prob is seeing an easy topic to rap about, he used to just not choose sides and make fun of whoever, ie bill and Hillary. He’s using his platform to be a change which is cool and fine but kinda weird because most of his fan base is white and a lot are against blacks people in general. It’s a balsy move. But it doesn’t mean his recent raps are good lol but it may make a change. I feel like most black people find it corny but who knows.
Dec 9, 2017 its not surprising at all. We have been anticipating a semi political themed album since the campaign speech.
Dec 9, 2017 I think Em genuinely feels the things hes rapping. People forget that even though he is a rich white boy now that he was once poor as dirt. He went to majorily black schools, grew up amongst african americans. His best friend was black. His life experiences in the first half of his life mirror those of many african americans. I think he genuinely thinks all the things he has said. He was strongly anti bush administration also. I dont find the move ti more political themes and lyrics surprising but it is a bit ballsy on his part more so than other rappers/celebs cause a lot of his fanbase are white republicans. Being anti-republican and racism doesn't make you an SJW, once em starts protesting for transgender, womens rights and safe spaces then ill consider him sjw. He dipped in politics on the eminem show but never full on dived in like it looks like he about to do.
Dec 9, 2017 Do the majority of Em's songs need to be political? No. No. Please don't make a Nas Untitled album. However, if 3-4 of his songs are political out of his ~18 song tracklist, and it's spread amongst a variety of other topics, I think it would be refreshing overall.
Dec 9, 2017 Tbh I hate all politicians and am not a part of any political party so I couldn’t give a f--- less what and who he raps about. I think anyone who actually called themselves Trump or Hillary supporters are idiots. Crooked and corrupt as f--- the both of them. I’m just happy Em is pissed off about something again and is making good points. I’m fine with a few songs being political. I don’t think the whole album will be.
Dec 9, 2017 I think it legit pissed him off that he was getting criticized for his lyrics while Bill Clinton had a sex scandal going on.
Dec 9, 2017 So if i said i never did drugs That mean that i lie and get f----- More then the president does Hillary Clinton tried to slap me And called me a pervert I ripped out her tonsils And fed her sherbet
Dec 9, 2017 as much i would like to hear him rap about this stuff it all seems like a marketing tool for the new album. he should've spoke about crooked cops and racists a few years ago. Kendrick already done it.
Dec 9, 2017 Being rich doesn't mean you can't be a democrat or support that side...completely irrelevant...
Dec 9, 2017 it's not really about being a democrat.. it's about being a decent human being and recognizing racism for what it is.
Dec 9, 2017 White America = political Square Dance = political Sing for the Moment = somewhat political Fight Music = political Renegade = political I am fine with Eminem making politically-relevant music and you should be too.
Dec 10, 2017 Sure it does, you can support the side but you’re not part of the movement. You’re comfortable lol
