Dec 1, 2017 I can't hear the drummer drummin' And the trumpets, someone's tryna speak in my ear I know paul is comin' But I'm runnin' from it, to be good again at the summit i'ma puppet, how come i become it? Was it too good to be true? Haven't a decent album since 2002, relapse is good but too much of it Then lose it again, did I swallow paul's c-m? ‘Cause if not, where the h--- did it go? ‘Cause here I sit in interscope den by the dutch oven Just choosing to scream like a b----, even if it means I'm sellin' my soul Just to be the unlistenable again Do whatever I gotta do just to get cash for paul ‘Cause I got this motherfuckin' sucking my soul Selling bricks of my house, thorns on it Cracks in it, bet you morons didn't think I'd be back, did ya? unfortunately
Dec 1, 2017 True. What's so bizarre and annoying about the whole thing... is that he had no need to do this! Most artists do this - either at the beginning of their career to try and get commercial acceptance, which he didn't. Or, they do it later in their career after not getting accepted for their own work, so they desperately just hop onto trends etc. Now Relapse wasn't a huge selling album by his standards, but it's still multi-plat. It still sold 600k first week after being a ghost for 4 years and coming back with an arabian horrorcore album... Em can say it's not about fame or money all he wants, but at this point, I don't believe that even if he does. Because he's had no need to do what he's done. Not only did he do it just to get back on top-top too but he's now been doing it big time since Recovery. Like, over and over - pointless features, s---, popular production, trendy s---, trendy samples, he's just completely wrecked his integrity for no reason. Especially when some of his biggest songs have been uncompromised solo songs even in recent years. Say what you will about "Berzerk" but it's him on the hook, it's authentic in the sense that it's his tone and a real rap track, the production is booming, same with "Rap God" - both of those songs were BIG singles, even by his standards... And yet, he still does s--- like "The Monster" to try and scavenge and even broader crossover audience. He just wants to be as big as possible. But he's ruined his albums and weight of his name in the process. And he still would have been huge if he didn't do that s---. Sell out bs.
