Throughout his career, Em's first singles always had a concept. They were usually fun songs that picked up on current events and pop culture in a satirical way. This culminated in Em making fun of that guy with the full beard at the end of the 'Without me' video which lead to a specific line in We as american's 3d verse.

He broke this tradition with Not afraid. Ironically, this is the only '1st single' I still have on my phone. I loved it when it came out.

These songs are all good fun songs except for 'We made you'. Berzerk was an improvement. But I don't know, I don't really care about them, the good stuff was always on the rest of the album ( Till I collapse etc. ) I usually love his 2nd singles though. ( The way I am, Cleaning out my closet, Beautiful, The monster etc).

What do you think of these songs, do you care about them ? And what would you like to be his next 1st single to be like ?

Personally, I'd really appreciate something like Business as his next 1st single.But whatever it might be, I'm pretty sure he's got something in store for us

Em's singles are mostly crap BUT are exactly what were needed to promote the album. Singles are all about promotion and marketing and when you think of My name is, Without Me etc... they did an excellent job.

I always hated the old first single formula. Casual music fans would hear those goofy pop songs and assume that's what his entire album sounded like. But I will admit that they were always very successful for some reason, even though I thought the songs were crap.

I agree with u 100% Eminem is the man. I'm not afraid was definitely one of my favorites along with when I'm gone, beautiful, monster, and so on. He is the best rap artist out there and no one will ever compete with him. 100% real
