Jun 27, 2015 With the medicore to bad music he's released since his 2009 comeback, do you think Eminem has tainted his legacy? When you look at it, he has been bad longer than he has been good. A lot of people judge Eminem by the music he's relessed in recent years. Other rappers probably don't even remember how good he actually was. He hasn't been great in so long that when we think about Eminem, we think Recovery. While how good his recent music is is arguable, no one can argue that the quality is no where near the level of the music he was releasing at the start of his career.
Jun 27, 2015 You like everything Eminem does so your opinion is invalid. Keep in mind this is a comparison to the music he was releasing in his prime. So yes, compared to the quality of the music he used to put out, medicore to bad are accurate words to describe the music he is currently releasing.
Jun 27, 2015 Every big rapper is scared of Eminem no one has a bad word to say about him and he still matches if not betters them on songs forever love game no love ect the only people who diss him are no body's wanting a response for publicity
Jun 27, 2015 Older Eminem features would look like this: Dr Dre, Snoop, Xzibit, 50 Cent etc.. 2015 Eminem features: Rihanna, Pink, more Rihanna and now f---in Gwen Stefany That's why i made this thread. When everything is said and done, do you think what he's done in the past years affect how he will be viewed?
Jun 27, 2015 Yes. He will be remembered as one of the greats. But there will now be an aftertaste. Like people will say he was amazing and than say something like "But his music wasn't as good as he got older" or "After he came back, he just wasn't the same".
Jun 27, 2015 Has it tainted Jay's legacy? Nas'? Not necessarily. Falling off is something that is inevitable but at the end of the day, the greats will always be remembered for their great music. We may feel some type of way about Em now but once those curtains close for good he will still be remembered as one of the GOATs. When time passes and the 90s era or rappers aren't making anymore music, people aren't gonna call Jay trash because of MCHG and Kingdom Come. Or call Nas trash because of Nastradamus. People will call them two of the greatest of all time because of Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, Illmatic, Life is Good, and the other moments when they were at the top of their game. Same goes for Em
Jun 27, 2015 Em has had more s--- album's than great album's at this point. He is dreadfully awful now
Jun 27, 2015 new thread idea- is water wet? is the sun hot? do bears s--- in the woods? of course he has tainted his legacy. yes, he will probably always be remembered as one of the greats on the strength of his early work alone. but he's been mostly bad for over a decade now. average is usually the best he can hope for, and the occasional flashes of brilliance are few and far between. An Eminem who never made D12 World or Encore, or anything after them, would obviously have a superior career to the one that includes Recovery, XV, etc.
Jun 27, 2015 Ummm 1 song with snoop... Dont forget Kendrick Lamar, Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse ..still working with 50 cent
Jun 27, 2015 Well with standout tracks like Phenomenal I think he's still overall goat but he's just not as consistent anymore...
Jun 27, 2015 yeah maybe a little bit. people saying his new music output is "bad" are overreacting. it's not bad, it's painfully average. nothing new or exciting. if he made this music in 2002, he wouldn't be as famous because it's average, not bad.
Jun 27, 2015 If Eminem was to end his career after ShadyXV and just quit without any last song or tour or anything and jsut stopped making music where would you rank him in your all time GOATs ?
