    I'm fascinated by this. I want to know if there are any covers out there (from any genre) that out-do the original?

    One that sticks out is the Killing Me Softly cover by The Fugees.

    People say the Roberta Flack's version is the best but a lot of people also argue that Lauryn Hill's rendition is just as good if not better.

    If people can post a version of an original song and the cover that arguably beats it, that'd be great!

    Frank Ocean's cover of At Your Best (You Are Love) is great but Aaliyah's is still the best cover of the original by The Isley Brothers.
