whoa didn't expect some Britney talk in here, but glad to see it..been into Brit since the beginning tbh, was my biggest celebrity crush since I was a kid.

agree with Circus being her best album. :emoji_thumbsup:

hard for me say which of those 2 eras is best, I'd have to compare the albums/songs more than I can recall right now..Something about the og Britney is special cuz she was just getting started etc, but overall I think she was a little better after that so I'd probably have to lean towards the 2nd era you mentioned...although I feel her impact on pop culture was probably bigger in the early days.

yeah, britney is at worst the third best female pop artist of all time, nothing wrong with loving some brit!

I agree that first run is more iconic, you are watching her become a tour de force and totally change pop music. The second run is like watching a master at her craft. She wasn't shifting the genre anymore, she was showing that no matter where it was going she was still the Queen.

also no: she was one of the signature pop cultural figures through 03, and her great singles are almost exclusively from that first run

"Blackout" is a personal fave just because, even though she was in the darkest period of her life, she created a f---in' Bop-Pop Classic in 2007. She could have went personal on the songs, too. But instead of that, she brought the energy and passion that you could see in her public breakdowns and converted that into something absolutely cathartic with a carefree nature to it.

Well, this is a very controversial comment. I'm not sure. Both runs were strong but Britney was like the top 3 most popular artists or something in the early run. She wasn't as big as the first in the second one. Like there were Lady Gaga, Rihanna many other pop stars I can't think of right now... Kinda sure numbers would suggest her first run was much bigger. But as for quality I don't know enough to comment on...

I was lucky enough to be old enough to watch her from the jump in her first era, man the whole world was crushing on her then. She was the first poster I ever hung in my room lol. I’d say her impact, sales and run was the biggest during her first prime as a pop culture phenomenon, but I’d have to agree that Circus from the second era was her best album for sure.

Saw a Britney performance when I was in Vegas, like 2017 I think it was..it was a lot better than expected. I know she mostly doesn't sing live and I knew that going in (tbh if you go to her show at this point and don't know that, that's on you..she's been around 20 years)..but she actually broke from her usual routine and did a cover of the Bonnie Raitt song 'something to talk about' live which was cool. Britney killed it overall...great fun show. She's also even hotter in person and still hot as f--- nowadays...

Just glad I got drunk before I went in, cuz the waitress lady asked me if I wanted a drink and I asked for a beer and it was like $35 so i said naw lol...think that's the highest price I've ever seen for a regular beer.
