Understandable. I’m a Jericho mark so I’m a bit biased.

After rewatching that 4 way match it just hit me while Ospreay is so dynamic offensively he really does not know how to sell. He springs back up way too often after big moves

1.) Okada vs. Naito (****3/4) - I just love slow building matches like these! Naito showed the whole World how talented he is and hit Okada with crazy offensive moves. The match storytelling was also insane. The only thing holding me back from giving this match 5 starts is the wrong winner or the abruct ending in general.

2.) Omega vs. Jericho (****3/4) - I just have watched this match, that I sadly missed live and gotta say, that Jericho is insane taking these bumps with 47. The hardcore stuff has been utilized perfectly in this match. Jericho played the heel role amazingly. Small critisms I still have about this amazing match, bc I am a shithead, would be for example that I felt there was too much extra about it like Jericho beating up the Young Lions and other multiple things, which were just unnessacarly hurting the pacing of the match and that Kenny repeated his offence a bit too much in this match, but that are rlly small things and the match still ended up being amazing.

3.) Ibushi vs. Cody (****1/4) - this is kinda underrated by yall imo, bc I have no negative things to say about this tbh, ofc it wasnt as epic as the two main events, but I felt that the stole the show in the limited time phrame there were given and would honestly like to see these two meet in the ring again, their styles mix perfectly.

I watched the last 2 matches again tonight and I don't see how I missed the talking between Kenny and Jericho and also that horrible blade job. Really takes away from the match for me and I still can't believe Naito isn't champ. With all that's been said I found the show to be great and what I've come to expect from NJPW. I wish they put more effort into their tag matches though, those s----s can be lacking

I thought the same thing when it first happened but then on the slow mo you could tell he was actually in perfect control on his fall

    This is the right answer

I can’t wait until New Year’s Dash in a few hours!

Something tells me Jericho’s business in New Japan aint done...

I’m thinking a fued with Naito is next

@NJPWBros i know it wont happen for a bit. But Ospreay recently has stated he wants to move into the heavyweight division eventually. How would all of you feel about that? Would his style translate well?

I don’t see it happening tbh...from what I understand NJPW isn’t even his priority right now and he might even be working less dates there this year than he did in ‘17 because he wants to concentrate on helping make the Australia wrestling scene bigger.

Btw @NJPWBros for those who don’t know, the New Year’s Dash show is available for free on New Japan World

So even those who aren’t a subscriber can watch it live (it starts in 20min) or on demand about an hour after it’s over on the site

Don't think it would be a good transition for him. He's fine where he's at right now

Alright so I had to re-watch the 4 way and Okada/Naito.

The Young Bucks vs Roppongi 3K - 4
Chaos vs Bullet Club vs Suzuki-gun vs Taguci Japan - 3.25
    Cody vs Ibushi - 4.25
Killer Elite Squad vs LIJ - 3.75
    Goto vs Suzuki - 4
    Takahashi/Ospreay/Scurll/Kushida - 4.75
    Switchblade/Tanahashi - 4
Chris Jericho vs Kenny Omega - 5
    Okada vs Naito - 4.75

Who was selling in that match? Lol. Everybody was popping back up. Every year in a few random matches he shows that he can work a more psychologically sound style, he just doesn't because his flippy s--- usually gets more over. I thought he had a five star match with Zack Sabre Jr at the end of the year which everyone here should watch. When he's in a match where he's being worked over, he knows how to adapt his style and his selling can be borderline over-the-top at points.

He has mentioned getting more jacked. That would need to happen.

Have you seen Ricochet lately? Dude is a monster.

Man nobodys gonna give me props for this? Y’all are cold lol

Anyway I’m way stoked for this feud.

The Kenny/Switchblade angle kinda confused me, but they teased the big breakup of Cody vs. Kenny which was dope.

I can see The Elite breaking off from BC similar to nWo red & black with the Kenny vs Cody match taking place either at the March Long Beach show or at Dominion

    Thoughts?

He feels he has to be in a faction and Chaos makes the most sense for the moment. LIJ isn't him, Bullet Club is basically gone at this point. There's better opponents when he's with them and he's said that he still wants to go for Okada. If nothing else, it's a quick storyline reason to get him with Omega and keep the underlying BC vs Chaos feud alive. They're going to have a phenomenal match, no way Jay doesn't walk out of it a much bigger star. Still, I would have kept him solo myself.

The Elite officially breaking off has been a foregone conclusion for a long time now. My one wish is that Hangman Page can join in with them, he basically plays Kenny's role in ROH in those six man tags and if not as great, is almost as spectacular. He's been killing it too.
