Jul 7, 2015 Shady 1.0 started off really strong but got worse with time. 2.0 started off bad and has only gotten better. I feel like 2.0 will surpass 1.0 when their run is eventually done.
Jul 7, 2015 Because he runs a s-----y label that no one with ambition and a real shot to make it would doom themselves on. And because no one in their right mind would want to do a song with him these days. Even if his old work compels them to praise him in public, there's no way a respectable artist wants him dragging down their album or associating them with one of his.
Jul 7, 2015 But 50, Obie & Stat > SH & Yela. Also disagree strongly with Royce being the best in SH, Budden is so much better.
Jul 7, 2015 That's a tough one. I think I prefer Eminem's material on XV but prefer the other artists material on The Re-Up. I love both albums. Slight edge to The Re-Up if I had to choose.
Jul 7, 2015 Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf will never be as good or as successful as Obie Trice was at one point. Let alone D12 or 50 Cent. 50 went diamond. I doubt SH or Yela will ever even go platinum. Have they even gone gold?
Jul 7, 2015 I'm talking quality of records over then amount of records they'll sell. Obie and D12 (well maybe, this ones hard to predict) wouldn't sell half as well as they did from 00-03 if they released albums these days. The first round of shady releases was amazing but it went downhill from there (that is undebatable). If we compare 1.0 vs 2.0 then let's brake that down: Yelawolf vs Obie Trice: If we're being real here, yelawolf was, is and has been better than Obie ever was. Even though I love Cheers, Obie wasn't anything special or any talent that makes him stand out. Obie only sold well (with Cheers... that's it) due to the huge momentum the label had at the time. Would be much harder to argue Obie's better than Yela instead of vice versa Slaughterhouse vs D12: This one can still go either way. I do feel safe saying that Slaughterhouse will probably never release an album as good as Devil's night but probably won't release an album as bad as D12 world. D12 will undoubtedly have the better album but Slaughterhouse still has a chance to have the better overall discography (or they'll tank, that's still TBD) 50 Cent: 50 is in his own league and really can't compare him to anybody not named Eminem on the label right now. Nobody on the shady records right now will release an album at the magnitude that Get Rich or Die trying so 1.0 wins by default there. Plus let's not even talk about Stat, Creekwater and Cashis... When 2.0 is over (if there is an official end to it like there was 1.0) I can see 2.0 being better than 1.0 was quality wise over all. 50 is a given and Stat quo isn't better than anybody. I do agree that Budden better than Royce though.
