Nov 3, 2016 This is true and I don't know if I'm just lost in the sauce but I fell in love with this form of music consumption. I always thought records were neat and when I realized new releases got pressed on vinyl I was sold. So much more fulfilling than a cheap little CD. Wiith a stigma like you'd only have soul or jazz records in your dads old collection to now a days even future is on vinyl its just a cool thing
Nov 3, 2016 Im not that interested or driven by "supporting the artist" really its just another pro of owning music. I do it more selfishly just to have it as something I own I will never buy ALL music for example I'd never buy Cozy Tapes since that just released... But eventually I hope to have a great collection well into the hundreds
Nov 3, 2016 Oh BTW I ordered: Travis Scott - Rodeo Daft Punk - Discovery Yung Lean - Unknown Memory tonight Lean won't ship until December Others come top of the week ^_^
Nov 3, 2016 In general, it's really just a trend. Vinyl albums have been getting pressed for years, but in terms of Hip Hop, for years only DJs and hardcore aficionados would buy them. Now, you can buy Madvillainy at Urban Outfitters. The s--- has gotten absurd. People seem to have forgotten the real reason they stopped buying CD's- cause you can get the album online for free. People just want to get a crappy vintage turntable, collect a couple of dozen of vinyl albums and use them as decorations for their apartments. The only thing more absurd than the sudden vinyl obsessed collectors are the cassette collectors. And I don't hate vinyl but to see people who once preached "why pay for it when I can get it online for free" or screamed "I can't afford CD's, I'm broke" all of a sudden buying vinyl albums and 12"s is nauseating.
Nov 3, 2016 Yeah I see your point a lot of people are interested more in the aesthetic than the actual music. For me personally I was one who said why buy music if I can get it for free not out of financial situation but because a cd in a plastic case didn't seem like a worthy purchase not to mention CDs and players were going almost literally extinct with mp3s and digital formats. Vinyl filled the need for me of a worthy physical format. CDs / mp3 can't give you the experience a record can
Nov 3, 2016 I support artists when I go to their concerts. Don't buy music because I can download it for free and they already have millions of dollars so f--- them
